Re: The Official "New Years 2010" Thread
1. 2009 has been fine. There are regrets, but nothing too major.
2. There are 2 parties. One has the hottest girl I know at it, but nobody else I know, the other has all my friends, but no hot girls... I'll probably go to the one with my friends.
3. I really want to be able to pay for my dream college, but no scholarships as of yet and a $20k a year price tag is hard when you're working at Wendy's and your parents are broke. Still, I'm sure I'll figure something out. haha

Thanks for making this thread WW.Weekend_Warrior wrote:1. So how was 2009 for you?
2. What are you doing tonight?
3. What are your hopes and aspirations for 2010?
Myself:
1. It was even. Lot's of up's and down's. 2007 was terrible. 2008 was great. 2009 was so-so
2. Just going to sit at home, drink beer, eat pizza, play some games. Unless something changes
3. Seriously looking to get in shape in 2010 and hopefully find a fun, sexy girlfriend
1) Got married, made a mint, found racketboy. Best year yet, but they always seem to get better.
2) Having friends over, splurging on booze, food and fireworks.
3) My goal is to buy a 4 bedroom house by October of 2010. Might pursue a doctorate, but that really isn't a goal.

Re: The Official "New Years 2010" Thread
1. 2009 was eh for me. I finally worked up the nerve to tell the vet I work for that his methods of medicine are completely unacceptable and that he should lose his license. This made me feel better inside, but it also seemed to be the end of me doing what I love more than anything in the world. Also, because of money issues I was forced to drop out of school, which is fine because I was just going to learn for learning sake and not to get a better job or anything. Dropping out meant returning to full-time. Since the pet store I was working at didn't have enough hours, I was forced to look for employment elsewhere - found a new job as a vet tech at a new practice. The crew is good, but the doctors are so so personality-wise. It is too soon for me to get an idea of the type of medicine they practice. Other than work stuff, I have some struggles that I am going through that just happened to come to a head last night, perfect timing. Thankfully, my wife is the most wonderful person in the world so I feel confident things will work out.
2. Tonight will be great. We usually head to Jersey to my sister's and go to her friends' party and it sucks because everyone is lame. This year we are going to a party downstairs in our apartment complex. No driving, no going outside, we just crawl home afterwards. We can be close to our own place and our pets and everyone will probably bring their dogs down and that is always fun to watch.
3. For 2010 I plan on hitting this new job hard. I don't like bragging, but I am a damn good vet tech. This place has some techs that have their hearts in the right place, but need some nudging. The system there needs some tweaking too, but I feel it is too soon for me to start shaking things up. The first few days I was sort of being babysat and told how to do things I know how to do well. I took it, but come this new year it's time to start kicking some ass and asserting myself. Some people who are supposed to be working in different areas of the hospital have been trying to hang around and do what they aren't supposed to because it seems more fun - they will have to be put in their place also. I also have said struggles that I am going to start working on January 1. Tonight is our night to have a great time and relax, tomorrow it's time to kick my own ass into shape.

1:
The good came in the form of a new place, and getting my own room for the first time in over 15 years.
I also started slowly broadening my musical horizons, and found out that Marilyn Manson isn't so bad. I also started listening to late-'80s metal band Sanctuary (have both their albums), and plan to expand my tastes even further.
I am now also a fan of "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory". Now, Monday nights are awesome again.
2:
Right now, my parents and my brother's girlfriend (who gets along with my family) are watching TV in the living room and don't plan on watching the ball drop.
I, on the other hand, am finally getting around to watching "Watchmen". As part of a tradition of mine, I went to the video store (who is closed on New Years' Day) and rented four movies, each one a film I passed over in the course of the year. The other three are Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, and The Hangover.
3:
My resolutions are listed below.
* Expand my interests in films, books, and music
* Take up an artistic endeavor (either electric piano or sewing)
* Get my license
* Get a car
* Take a weekend trip by myself

So best of luck to you. Happy New Year
I just don't see the point of staying in highschool when I'm not learning anything new and could be doing something more challenging and getting towards my goals.
Older. Not wiser.
Re: The Official "New Years 2010" Thread
09 has a truly awesome year for me. I got married after a 10 year relationship. I got a huge promotion at work and pretty much make double of what I made last year. Bought more games and consoles than I'll ever play in a lifetime. I'm working 17 hours straight today and working tommorow as well @ double time and a half. Then a week off on vacation no plans to go anywhere, maybe catch up on my backlog of games. No complaints here though, Happy New Year everyone.
Re: The Official "New Years 2010" Thread
1: Meh 2009 was alright. It had its good moments and bad moments.
2: I got wisdom teeth out monday so I'm sitting at home with my family trying to recover. It's not as bad as I thought it would be I am having trouble eating my traditional New Years Eve snacks though
.
3: It's my junior year in high school so I really want to get my act together this year and pump out good grades while having fun while I'm at it. I didn't do so well on my PSATs so I really want to study up and get a better score because I know I'm capable of it (all honors classes and two AP classes). I'd also like to become more savvy when it comes to cars and electronics. I actually received a "Auto-Repair for Dummies" so hopefully I'll retain some info after I read that. Perhaps this is the year I find my first girlfriend too
.
I'm hoping for the next decade to be better than this one. IMO this decade sucked. All we have to remember about this decade is emo kids with straight, jet black hair who wear girl jeans no matter what their gender is and weird music that becomes mega-hits out of nowhere (Lady Gaga anyone?).
Anyway hope everyone on the forum has a enjoyable, healthy end to 2009 and high hopes for 2010.
Peace out
