Sadly, the same can be said for X-Men as well.Dylan wrote:Yeah, pretty anti-climactic.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Actually the Virtua Hamster Rom was finally dumped, final conclusion.......it's crap.

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
My advice would be this.
If you find it on the cheap pick it up. If you have a modded Genesis / Megadrive but no RGB cable...Pick it up. Other than that its really not worth picking up unless your a serious collector.

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
If you can get into it real cheap it's worth it otherwise not really I hardly touch mine. But I bought a sega cd, sega model 2, sega 32x, 2 controllers and like 12 games 7 being 32x games complete in box. One of them was blackthorne. All for $60 bucks. But i would never pay ebay prices for it. Not worth it imo.
Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
That's too bad about virtua hamster...it seemed like something that could've been really funny/zany in the grand tradition of oddball sega games.
Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
I owned a 32X for a while.
The only game that made me enjoy the system was Virtua Fighter. Everything else was exasperatingly lame. I don't even really understand why they made the thing.
Even so, there are better versions of Virtua Fighter available today.
Whether you really want a 32x or not is up to you. Personally I'd say spend the $$$ on another game for a less crappy system you already own. But if the 32x turns out to be what does it for you, go for it.

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
MK 2 was good on 32x, but for the most part its a collector piece. I ended up selling mine, and didn't miss it.
Other than a few quirky games, and sloppy ports it doesn't have much to offer. I would recommend a Saturn over it, and even then, i'm probably going to sell my saturn too... Now dreamcast is a real system... ::drool::

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
I'm a huge 32x enthusiast and actually really like it's library outside of 4-5 stinkers. It is also a system that is fun to collect for since the library is so small...
Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
For some reason the word "completionist" comes to mind more than "collector." I've never wanted to consider myself a collector (though I really can't avoid the moniker), as I've always just been interested in good games. Sure, I have more good games than I can currently play, but I plan to play 'em. I got the 32x pretty much purely for Kolibri. I'm a big shmup fan, so the novelty of Kolibri really piqued my interest. It and SuperGrafx are probably the two "systems" that I had the least justification for, as the amount of quality on either is abysmally low. Sure, 32x has some decent games, but a great deal of them have better ports elsewhere.
As far as I know, the best games for the system without superior ports out there are Kolibri, Blackthorne, Shadow Squadron, Star Wars Arcade, Virtua Fighter and Virtua Racing Deluxe. And even some of those I'd have trouble recommending (Virtua Fighter is sorely outdated these days, as just one example). Also worth noting that some people endorse Knuckles Chaotix more than others. I've yet to try it out, so I cannot judge.
The only games I have for the system are Kolibri and Shadow Squadron, and I'm waiting for the day I can find a good price on Blackthorne.

Re: 32X: Is it worth it?
You asked about price and no one's answered that. $20-25 is about average for a 32X. Make sure you get the little A/V jumper cable with it, or you'll end up spending about the same just for a little cable.
