What system has the highest percentage of good games?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

What about Nintendo 64?
Because it used cartridges, most shovelware only appeared on the PS1 instead, as CDs were obviously cheaper to manufacture.
So basically, if you were going to the effort of producing an N64 game, you also went to the effort of making it decent. Obviously there are some exceptions though, but its quality to shit ratio would be fairly good.

I was sort of thinking of the N64, but I came slightly too late to be the first to suggest it.

Obviously it can not have been anything popular enough to attract the droves of shovelware, in order to have the best percentage. We are probably looking for a system with low number of bad games rather than one with an high number of good ones.

I think the Dreamcast, the N64 and NGPC are contenders. Funnily they all seem to be systems where a good portion of the total library are first or second party (not a coincidence)? I don't know enough about the Neo-Geo home systems, or the Turbografx to comment.

I'd say PS2 isn't the one, if it has 160 good games, that's a pretty small percentage considering there are over 3000 games for it. I'd say... hmmm, I'd don't know which console I'd pick. As the TC stated though, the 2600, NES, and PS2 certainly aren't the winners here. They were all crap magnets.

Virtual Boy? :)
I'm kinda serious.
Think about it -- they were pretty much all first-party Nintendo games...
Come on now. Most of those first party games were awful.
I was talking about my game collection and I missread the question. I'm gonna throw the Neo Geo out there as most arcade games don't suck.

Hmm..an interesting thought.

Good games:

Telero Boxer
Wario Land
Mario's Tennis

Bad games:

Waterworld

I don't know about the rest, though. Anybody with a Virtual Boy want to tell us what else is good or bad?

Probably Dreamcast, the list of games I want for that console is third behind PC and PS2 and has a lot less games than either of those two.

PC has a lot of crap but it doesn't pop up a lot.

The ps1 had tons of awesome games, and I don't really remember the shovelware being that prevalent.

The only other VB game I have is Jack Bros, and I haven't played more than a few screens into it due to the whole VB doing all the things they used to claim masturbation does. But so far it isn't a BAD game. I'd say based on what I've played it's average.

Mario clash was relatively fun. And vertical force.

I kinda wish VB games would show up on the Virtual console, one of the few times I'm all for dlc. There's just no way in hell I'm playing any of those games again if I have to use the virtual boy.

Anyway, as far as what console has the greatest % of good games, I think even if you could find a good way to break it down they'd all be pretty close. You could maybe go by the user scores on mobygames.com and find the average score for each system. But that would take forever. . .

I would say Sega Saturn, Master System, or Dreamcast.
