Sega SG-1000 / SC-3000H
Re: Sega SG-1000 / SC-3000H
I missed out on one on ebay-it went for seems like close to 200 bucks! Not sure it can be used unless it has a special monitor right? Which I hear is very hard to find more so than the system is.

It has an RF out, so I don't imagine so.otaku wrote:I missed out on one on ebay-it went for seems like close to 200 bucks! Not sure it can be used unless it has a special monitor right? Which I hear is very hard to find more so than the system is.
The only reason I was contemplating not getting it is that, I most likely wouldn't actually use it, I collect old consoles because I love old games, not just to say I have them. I am short on space at the moment, but as I said I will pick it up today (And take some photos for the good people playing at home) and store it in my back shed until I move, then decide what I will do with it.

Re: Sega SG-1000 / SC-3000H
So are SG-1000 games compatible with a U.S. Master System or just Japanese ones?
Re: Sega SG-1000 / SC-3000H
Well went in today, and the teacher who said I could have it now said he spoke to the coordinator and his not sure as he said it might be part of there archives or some crap. I should know sometime next week if I can take it home or not.

Just Japanese. Japanese SG-1000 and Mark III/Master System games will only fit in a Japanese SG-1000, Mark III or Master System. The Japanese cartridges are completely different from other regions.UBERTRON777 wrote:So are SG-1000 games compatible with a U.S. Master System or just Japanese ones?

Totally lame. Archives for what? It's just going to sit in some storage area and collect dust. It it were to go missing, it's likely that nobody would ever even notice. If you're curious what they're worth in Japan now, there's an SG-3000 for sale right now in Super Potato in Tokyo. If I remember right, it's in the 10,000yen range (about $100US).
