Anyone else think this guy is crazy?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

that's cause it is. we get lag when we click on hd with gametrailers videos, but then again ms thinks live belongs to the few selected with a high internet connection, and their country being a member of the G8.

i don't understand why everyone is bashing them for making mario games again. at least they are always fresh (bar sunshine).
and really galaxy was so great that it deserves new levels, it really does.

besides people forgived MS when they freaking made 3 halo games in 6 years.

btw the guy who wrote that article is an idiot. Disappointing super mario galaxy sales?

since when is 8 million games sold bad sales?

forgived? forgave? for... uhm......

I sure as shit didn't forgive them for that. Halo bores the crap out of me.

Microsoft is a fairly new company is trying to create a brand image with a flagship character. The best way to do that is to cram it down our throats so that we associate halo with xbox. I can't really blame them for cranking out those games, but I'm also not going to buy them.

But i think the argument is different. It isn't the fact that they are making mario games. It is the fact that the mario games arn't bringing anything new to the table. How mindblowing would it be to play a third person sandbox style mario game with different flowers for shooter powerups and different yoshis to get into areas previously locked? Give it an RPG like system and a slew of NPCs to really flesh out the mushroom kingdom. Make the MK feel like a real world rather then this linear morphing place that varies from game to game. That would excite me.

Mario sidescrolling... Fun, but I've seen it/played it to death. Mario galaxy 2.... fun... but again, i feel like i just played mario galaxy. Plus i skipped over a whole set of planets in it. I haven't gone back to play that set of planets so why would i play a whole new game? Galaxy 2 caters to the die hard nintendo fans and people who missed galaxy the first time around. I'll pick it up eventually, but it isn't exciting for me.

*EDIT* also, I think it is a shitty attitude to have a "loser" at e3. All companies are making some cool stuff. Everyone wants different things, so different companies are fitting those needs. To blanket statement one company as a loser and one as a winner is stupid. Can't we just be happy to have all these sweet new games/hardware?

Did anyone else realise Nintendo has done the vital sensor before?

Just a thought, it didn't catch on then and it probably won't catch on this time!

I pray you are joking. If for whatever reason someone from nintendo stumbles across this and makes it happen, I will hunt you down and destroy everything you cherish in your life.

Mario games have always been very well designed platforming games. The problem is that we have grown up with mario, and we have become so good at the games that they lack any real challenge. We forget that their are now kids that are about 6 years old playing these games, that do find it difficult. To which I say, if Mario needs anything, its a hidden world that you need to be a pro to find, and that hidden world needs to be deviously challenging.

I was underwhelmed by Nintendo this year, and a little embarrassed with Microsoft. I bash on the Wii all the time for it's motion controls and now Microsoft is trying to one-up them. I think the voice and facial recognition is neat but waving my hands around the room like a damn fool doesn't tempt me at all. Just holding a Wii-mote makes me nauseous. Nintendo needs to stop talking about how great they are though, I don't give a good god damn if they are making money. Why do they have to keep reminding us how well they are doing? Talk about insecurity. We are able to see 4 Halo games out on Xbox with 2 more to come. Halo is generally well received and liked by gamers, NOT ALL, but most. Microsoft addresses the gamers more directly than Nintendo in my opinion. On Gamecube we have Mario Sunshine, then Wii gets Mario Galaxy, and now a sequel. There is also a slew of Metroid games which don't make any sense to me at all. Where are the 2D Metroids we all love? Where is Donkey Kong, a LEGITIMATE Wii Zelda, Star Fox, or even a new Kid Icarus? Instead of delivering top rate 1st party games, Nintendo spends it's time telling us how they revolutionize gaming and how 3rd party developers love them. It just wears me too thin. Microsoft seems to address concerns of the gamers a little more efficiently than Nintendo does these days. We see a 1st party Nintendo game every year or two which I think isn't enough. Reward your fanboys for their loyalty. And what the hell is a Wii vitality sensor? -Facepalm- What the hell is going on? Golden Sun DS looks sweet. I'll give them that, and it's about time too. If you read this, you're awesome.

Think of it as the first gradual steps to us finally getting those holodecks we've always wanted.

Hahahaha.
Just so nobody alerts the authorities...I wouldn't actually do it...I definitely would cry the day I see a Sandbox mario game, though.
