besides people forgived MS when they freaking made 3 halo games in 6 years.
forgived? forgave? for... uhm......
I sure as shit didn't forgive them for that. Halo bores the crap out of me.
Microsoft is a fairly new company is trying to create a brand image with a flagship character. The best way to do that is to cram it down our throats so that we associate halo with xbox. I can't really blame them for cranking out those games, but I'm also not going to buy them.
But i think the argument is different. It isn't the fact that they are making mario games. It is the fact that the mario games arn't bringing anything new to the table. How mindblowing would it be to play a third person sandbox style mario game with different flowers for shooter powerups and different yoshis to get into areas previously locked? Give it an RPG like system and a slew of NPCs to really flesh out the mushroom kingdom. Make the MK feel like a real world rather then this linear morphing place that varies from game to game. That would excite me.
Mario sidescrolling... Fun, but I've seen it/played it to death. Mario galaxy 2.... fun... but again, i feel like i just played mario galaxy. Plus i skipped over a whole set of planets in it. I haven't gone back to play that set of planets so why would i play a whole new game? Galaxy 2 caters to the die hard nintendo fans and people who missed galaxy the first time around. I'll pick it up eventually, but it isn't exciting for me.
*EDIT* also, I think it is a shitty attitude to have a "loser" at e3. All companies are making some cool stuff. Everyone wants different things, so different companies are fitting those needs. To blanket statement one company as a loser and one as a winner is stupid. Can't we just be happy to have all these sweet new games/hardware?
