According to Wikipedia it came with The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2, which (according to Amazon) is:

"an interactive documentary that chronicles the development of the PS2 action game Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Featuring never-before-seen aspects of the game’s development, five playable VR training missions, original concept plans, rare video footage, trailers, and programming secrets, The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 is divided into two sections: Making and VR Training. The Making section consists of the following categories: characters, mechanics, background, polygon demos, program, sound, game plan, script, staff, chronicle, special footage, and items. The VR Training section comprises five different missions, giving fans an exclusive sneak peek at some of the new missions included in the upcoming game Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance while sharpening their skills in weapons proficiency, stealth, and subterfuge."

Sounds kick-ass. But anyway, you feel like you're missing out? I don't even have Substance! Just a pre-owned copy of MGS2 I got for £4!

I don't know about Europe, but there is an Essentials collection that came out here with MGS 1-3 with both substance and subsistence on it. I preordered it when it was announced and still haven't opened it. I originally had MGS2 and was on a dog tag run. I got to Solidus on extreme with a sliver of health and one ration and couldn't beat him by stamina drain. Tried many times and simply couldn't do it. I was using code breaker to play around with save files and I discovered a corrupted file on a 64mb third party memory card. I tried to delete the corrupted file and then my memory card no longer worked. Lost tons of saves. It was pretty devestating. There were a lot of games on that thing. Later on I found a copy of Substance and was ecstatic. Gave my old copy to a friend. There was a post a while ago about anybody playing The tanker chapter on April 29 2009, the same day Snake is on the tanker, and I was like hey, I'll play it again. I've now discovered that my copy will not load up the intro video or get past the part where you find Aimes (?) among the hostages. It will just stop playing and has a "?" on a disc flashing in the top right corner. I don't really know where I was going with this but next time I'll remember to thoroughly check out any used games I buy before I can't exchange it... and never to trust third party memory cards.

and back to the topic of the thread, Shadow Hearts Covenant was an enjoyable Rpg. The judgement ring makes battles pretty fun and the game is full of giggle worthy humour.

I don't think we ever got the MGS essentials collection sadly.

I'd recommend finding Psychonauts and We Love Katamari, as well as some of the SNK fighting collections. Perhaps some Metal Slug as well?

Nice lot of games you have there! I have quite a few of them. We must have similar tastes. You can see my collection in my game room post or in my backloggery in my sig. Good luck finding ZOE2. It is a great game. I liked the first one too, but not many other people didn't. The sequel is 10 times better though.

Just posted my collection up now too. Darkwatch is one of my favourite shooters. Western with vampires. Great fun.

My PS2 collection is kinda piddly right now. Granted, there isn't a stinker in my PS2 collection at all, but it could use some bulking up.

Best thing of note about my collection is that I have every version of every Metal Gear game released in America, even MGS3:Limited - which means I have three versions of MGS3. I'd say it deserves it though.

Rest of my collection is mostly RPGs (Atlus and Nippon Ichi, mainly) and 2D Fighters (SNK and Arc System Works, mainly).
