Yes, don't get an R4 DS, the only ones worth having are the cheap flimsy copies with SDHC support and even then you aren't going to get updates to improve compatibility.
I've got an R4DS and I've been forced to put ysmenu on mine just so that I can play certain games. However some older games don't work with it, so I have to use 2 micro SDs, one with the official firmware on and one with ysmenu on to play the latest games. It's annoying as hell.
I've been tempted to just get different one. The DSTT has piqued my interest, purely because it's dirt cheap on DealExtreme.
Sorry to sidetrack, but has anyone got any recommendations for a good 1 slot flash card and a GBA slot cartridge that works with it (preferably I want one that fits flush with the DS lite and is also black. It doesn't need the rumble or memory expansion as I'll very rarely use them).
Cyclo DS evo vs. R4DS? & DS Lite vs. DS-i???

Niode, which games dont work with YSMenu? I havent found any so far. I forgot to mention that I replaced my firmware with DSTT just so I could then use YSMenu. It's so simple and clean, and never fails me.

It's mainly arm patched versions of games that won't work on YSMENU. They work on the normal R4 firmware so I just leave it like that and put any of the new releases on my YSMENU card. It's probably simpler that way. Plus I don't want to risk incompatibilities with saving if I start to put other versions of the same game on there.
To answer your question Grappier, If you are going to buy something like a Cyclo DS, M3, R4, DSTT etc they are all Slot 1 Solutions. This means that they only require one slot to work, they don't need a flash linker to store the roms, they simply load the roms from the Micro SD inserted in the flash card. You can put both your DS homebrew and DS roms on the microsd. However, if you want to load GBA roms/homebrew you are going to need a GBA flashcard, it's not possible to load GBA roms/homebrew from a slot-1.
