Pretty much everyone is required to get a big black box at some point, because that's the only way to get your Steel Battalion on. And we all know that a game with that big of a controller has to be badass.

The big black box is cheap enough, and has enough exclusives worth playing (and is easily moddable) that most gamers should have one, or be getting one soon. I didnt have one during the systems original shelf life, but I have since purchased the system and about 30 games for under $100. Well worth it. I dont think the box is much to look at, but its what is on the inside (of the disk tray or HDD) that counts.

I need a copy of Steel Battalion so I can calibrate my sticks. I bought it with the intent of just playing online but apparently I need to run the sticks through a diagnostics that is only on the original game and it does it silently at boot... I may just bite the bullet and buy another set off ebay and coop through the missions.
