Working on an old Z-car should be pretty easy, not many electronics compared to today's vehicles.
Keys to remember when doing lots of automotive work:
1. Label EVERYTHING (doesn't matter if you know the part or not, just write something on it you'll remember it by)
2. Don't cut any wires unless you are positive as to what they do.
3. Find a good forum with lots of writeups, this will save you boatloads of time.
4. Get a factory service manual, don't use a Haynes manual unless that's the only thing available.
5. Take your time.
