Re: Sega CD Not Powering On
I'm going to revive this because I have a question...I just bought a gen 1 and it won't power on...is there a specific power adaptor that it needs? And if the F1 fuse is blown, will it appear blown or would I just need to replace it? I was able to get the lights to flicker on the unit once for perhaps 2 seconds when I used a Genesis brick.superlarz wrote:sneth wrote:model2 fuse is by the stereo ports,

Re: Sega CD Not Powering On
Both models of Sega CD use the same power supply as a Model 1 Genesis. You'll need 2, one for the genesis, and one for the Sega CD. You can check the fuse with a multimeter if you think it's causing trouble.

Sounds to me like sega accidentally installed two blast processors.

Re: Sega CD Not Powering On
i am using two 9v 1.67A regulated PSUs. Working fine so far. I am having some audio and skipping problems, but I have replaced all of the caps with tantalums except for the audio circuit. I am yet to replace the audio circuit with new op amps and high quality electolytic caps... that should solve the audio problem.
I think the skipping is comming from the cd laser focus is out... just need to scope it and refocus it... bump some more volts through the laser and it should be sweet
The fuse also blew but I just shorted that by the origional psu. It was pushing 17 volts (~_~);
