Thoughts? I find it funny that people were furious about the horse armor in oblivion costing $2, which is now considered an industry standard and yet there is this.
Picking up my copy later today (if you're not a Best Buy Gamer Club Unlocked member and buy new games with any frequency, you're doing it wrong BTW).

Is that FOB thing impossible to bypass with in game currency? My understanding was that real money was only used to speed up things you could acquire in the game with enough in game currency.

Got the game installed last night and played for a bit before I had to go to bed (had to be at work by 530) it ran crazy smooth, the frame rate never moved off of 60 and looked great. I can't wait to get home and really start the game.

Those prices for the FOB are crazy, I was really interested in that whole mechanic and wonder how far you can get with the single free one you get.

"forward operating base" it's an expansion to your mother base that can be invaded by other players.

The Steam version has Denuvo DRM.. I just hate DRM, Steam itself is barely something I can bear. I think I'll be getting a PS4 disc later on. Gotta finish Peace Walker first anyway

Aren't the micro transactions just for some silly online mode people like me couldn't care less about? I just bought the game for the single player experience.

The opening to this game is absolutely nuts.

The FOBs are a part of the multiplayer experience, but also serve as a practical application in the single player mode by acquiring resources for your army to upgrade. The single player application of the FOBS is minor and can be achieved with just your Mother Base and the free FOB they give you.

Also, the numbers that I quoted before are aparently in New Zealand Dollars so that is not the american price. We will see!

If the conversion rate is correct $80NZD is $50USD.

Is this game worth picking up on Xbox One? I do love me some Metal Gear!

the more I read about it, the more I'm planning to play this much sooner rather than later.
