Darksiders 2

This game is pretty good if you enjoy Zelda combined with Ninja Gaiden-lite. It's also notoriously buggy on all platforms and from some quick research, the Wii U version might be the worst in that regard. When I first tried the game I encountered a save glitch probably 2 hours in that kept me from moving forward. Now, when I'm just a few short hours away from completion, I've hit a freeze bug and I can't leave the room I'm in without the game locking up.

So fuck that shit. At least the story wasn't anything to write home about. Otherwise I'd want my 17 hours back.

Interesting. I played through on PS3 and thankfully had no issues. I did like the first game better, though.

Where the first game was God of War-meets-Zelda, the second deemphasizes the Zelda components for more in the Prince of Persia and Diablo vein.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors(SNES)

My friend and I played the game with his Game Genie a few months ago and we couldn't beat it. I've had that game for so long and it is just impossible. There are passwords, but you loose all of your weapons when you die. You almost have to beat the game in one sitting and that is a large feat considering there are over 50 levels. And considering I never really liked the horror genre growing up, the enemies and unique atmosphere do little for me.

It's interesting, but nothing there is keeping me invested and the curve is way too steep. I'm done. Time to trade it in.

^ That's one of those games that's way better in theory than in practice. It's an absolute chore to play.

Completely agree with you!

It's better in short spurts and in the easier levels. Once it begins to get incredibly difficult and the game just keeps going, that is when I loose my desire.

It's an interesting game, but when it comes to actually sitting down and beating the game, that is when problems arise.

I'm happy it still has some value, so I should get some good stuff in trade in value!

I couldn't find information about it anywhere, but I think I softlocked the game ._. I'm supposed to be able to just go into Volcannon Trap after talking to Calamity Jane, but I can't. Nothing I do seems to make it want to open so... yeah. I'm not completely giving up on the game but I really don't want to restart it right now. I probably won't get back to it this year, but I will give it another chance... later.

I'm sure I hit this exact same issue, I just wish I could remember how I managed to carry on. There's another step in there somewhere...

Ultimate Spider-Man (Gamecube)

Amazing game, but I got to the Hobgoblin and, not only is he hard, he keeps clipping through the floor and disappearing. Plus, I've already beaten it.

However, I do recommend the game to anyone with even a passing interest in Spider-Man, and anyone who loves a good Open-World game. :D

Incoming rant in 3..2...

Mad Max

This is one of the worst games of 2015. Mad Max has absolutely the single worst take I have EVER seen of the Batman combat system. They LITERALLY took EVERY SINGLE THING that was good about that combat system and RUINED it. The combo system? Fucked it up. They actually want you to do conventional combos against single opponents in this game, which is impossible because there is ALWAYS someone else attacking and interrupting you. The counter system? Fucked it up. They don't even work half the time and even if you successfully pull one off THE FUCKING IDIOT DOESN'T EVEN DO A COUNTER ATTACK. He just does a worthless block. Special moves? Fucked it up. You can only do them at the end of a combo, good luck pulling those off. Gadgets? He has a shotgun which 9 times out of 10 won't hit the enemy you're trying to kill and shivs which are just basic finishing moves. The camera? Can't even keep track of the action. Many of the cheap hits you will take will be from off screen enemies whose counter icons don't even show up on screen when they are attacking you. And the idiots at Avalanche Studios exacerbate the problem by often putting you in fights in confined, dark places where you literally can't tell what the fuck is going, you just know that you're getting hit and taking damage. You know that cool effect when you build up a combo and start dashing around the screen in Batman or Shadow of Mordor? They took that out. You know that useful vault over move where you jump or roll over your enemies in Batman and Shadow of Mordor? They removed that.

The game also has way too fucking many enemy types, it just gets fucking confusing.

Let's just take this elegant combat system, rip out its innards, scratch it up, smear some shit on it, then present it to gamers with pride like a mentally challenged child.

Max is the most pathetic fighter I have ever seen. He has literally ZERO combat prowess. He's slow like an old man and he hits like a girl. Seriously, you'd think the skulls of the people you fight in this game are literally made of solid gold.

The entire game is a fucking grind fest. You can't do ANYTHING in this goddamn game without performing the same repetitive tasks fifty billion times. It will take you FOREVER to upgrade Max and his car, which is sad because Max fights like a pussy and his car is a worthless, shitty little rust bucket. Clearly the goal of the game is to build up Max and his car to the point that you can actually do cool shit with them, but the process is such a long grind you'll just stop caring long before you get there. After running through the same cycle of finding scavenging sites, raiding camps and destroying scarecrows for the thousandth time you'll wonder why you aren't doing something more productive with your time, which is something the folks at Avalanche Studios clearly have zero respect for...your time.

The whole game is sloppy. Controls are clunky, targeting is moronic (the auto targeting system will NEVER target the most dangerous threat), counters don't work have the time, glitches and bugs galore. It's also cheap, you can die from just random shit like a lightning dust storm showing up and ripping your car to shreds or a random encounter (they happen so often you'd think you were playing a Japanese rpg) with some heavily upgraded, OP cars that your rinky dinky little car can't handle because you haven't spent fifty hours upgrading it yet. Oh, and good luck trying to outrun them because they will ALWAYS catch up to you no matter what.

EVERY GODDAMN THING YOU DO IN THIS GAME IS HARDER AND MORE ANNOYING THAN IT NEEDS TO BE.

You wanna drive around? Better find fuel reserves. You want to regain health? Better find some water supply somewhere. Wanna unlock fast travel? Spend 5 minutes getting some stupid air balloon to work, then another 5 minutes waiting for the goddamn thing to get into the sky, then another 5 minutes looking around the environment to mark everything on the map while you're in it. You have to do ALL of that just to unlock ONE, fucking fast travel spot. Wanna defuse that mine field? Go back to base and get that shitty little buggy and put your mine sniffing dog in it because for some stupid, fucking reason he can't just ride along in your regular car. Good luck if you run into some random enemies in that shitty buggy too, they'll fuck you up.

This is one of most annoying video games I have ever played in my life, big let down coming off of the awesome Until Dawn, which shits all over this game.

I love these Gamerforlife posts.

Though usually when you hate a game this much you manage to at least finish it (and then play the DLC).
