Requires a gpu, but not a powerful one. Not sure the integrated graphics in there. But it may work just fine if u want to give it a shot.

Cool, cool - yeah, looks like these specs are fine. I think it would struggle w/ V, but these are gonna be ok.
Just installed III and it took all of 5 minutes. Aidric is already playing has a full city nearly completed already - no slowdown or lagging. He's very pleased.

I played III on a pre-built HP Windows 98, your machine should handle it just fine. IV will probably get slow playing on large maps, or with a large number of civs.mjmjr25 wrote:My son just got the Civ III and IV set for his birthday.
Question - will a factory $300 PC play this ok? Or should I install on my more powerful rig?
Ideally it will be on the cheap factory PC as that's in the living room - but if it's going to hobble along - then i'll put it in the bedroom.
Specs on the cheap PC:
Intel Celeron J1800 2.41 GHz Processor
4 GB DDR3 RAM
500 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
