Futari is amazing. DDPR was fantastic. Jamestown is excellent. All great games that I've spent much time with and enjoyed very much. But not as much as Deathsmiles.

I didn't play DDP DOJ or whatever it was called. The one that got a PS2 port.

Crimzon Clover was really good, but wouldn't come close to Top 10 for me.

At any rate your calling DS's scoring "boring" really just baffles me. It was a big part of what kept me sucked in.

But hey, opinions. I don't like Radiant Silvergun so whatever.

I think it's normal, Treasure games are more divisive than it seems at first glance.

What else have you played? Deathsmiles is good, but I can think of at least 3-4 others (including several Cave games) from the past 10 years that I'd easily rate higher.
I've played most Cave, Touhou, some of the Steam shmups, Crimzon Clover, and others. Haven't played the modern Raiden games, Jamestown, and a few Cave games like Pink Sweets or DS II.

I like Futari and DS the best but DS is numba one.

Einhander
The Guardian Legend
RayForce/Galactic Attack
Sinistar
Zaxxon

Which of those should I tackle next?
You'll have fun with TGL. Rayforce isn't too bad to do either.

I remember reading somewheres that the JPN version of Einhander is easier than the NA version. Is this true?

I'd say some old shooters are better, but some clearly aren't.
