Apparently there's gonna be a big announcement from Hearthstone at 2:30 PDT on their Twitch channel:
I hope it's new cards.
edit: New card expansion called "The Grand Tournament" announced! http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/exp ... ournament/

So, I remove Mech Warper, and Micro Machine...but that means I no longer have cheap minions to throw down early and it means Goblin Blastmage is pretty useless now. Micro Machine used to be a must, X2, for each deck - not I can't even find room for him. It's crazy that the better my cards are the harder it has become to build a good deck.
It seems like you already have the right idea there... 'good' cards on their own aren't any good if they don't synergize with the rest of your deck. If you can't activate Grim Patron's ability, can't make use of Mechwarper because of no mechs... etc. 'Bad' cards on their own can also possibly become good when paired with other certain cards.

everytime a new feature or expansion is announced for Hearthstone a tiny part of me thinks "this is it. They're gonna mess something up. There's no way they can keep consistently coming up with such awesome additions." And yet here we are:
Hearthstone: The Grand Tournament's big new feature has just been announced at Gamescom: jousting. Yes, you read that right.

The system introduces a new set of cards with the joust ability. Joust draws a random card from each player's deck. The player that draws the highest value card is rewarded with the joust boost.
Said boost varies. One example gave a card taunt and divine shield, another restored seven health to the hero card. Basically, they're useful, but risky, as you aren't guaranteed to win the draw.
This sounds awesome!

...when you think it can't get better.

Ugh, ran into Annoy Rogue again last night. I've done it myself successfully once, but I still need another Gang Up and ColdLight Oracle to do it properly. When you don't get those 2 cards...you just get killed. Having 2 of each in the deck would make it much easier.

I've also been consistently running into Turn 8 Warrior (my own phrase). Drop Warsong behind a Sludge on Turn 8. Drop Grim and Frothing behind them on Turn 9. Whilrwhind once...or twice. Frothing has Charge and 15-20 atttack, 2-4 Grims with Charge. These guys basically spend their first 6 turns armoring up, Shield Maiden, Shield Block, Armorsmith, Acolyte of Pain. Taking damage, shielding up, letting you fill the field, taking damage, building cards and then just turning it around 180 degrees on Turn 8. Very effective, but very annoying.

Oh boy. This new expansion hasn't even released yet, and I can pretty confidently say it's gonna be my favorite Hearthstone expansion yet.

All signs point to the games meta slowing down at least a little bit. High damage rush decks have been a pain in the ass to play against pretty much forever. Even if the game doesn't slow down to turn ten control warrior territory, slowing down even a little is a welcome change of pace.

They're also adding in new rewards for playing on the ranked ladder. Now you'll get guaranteed gold cards and crafting dust at the end of every month, with the amount/quality of your reward being based on the highest rank you got during the month. Very nice.

And finally, my favorite class looks like it's getting some very powerful new cards that will help round out it's weaknesses. Shaman hasn't had any strong early game minions before, and now it'll be getting Totem Golem which is a 2 mana minion with 3 attack, 4 health, and overload of 1. And also they're getting a spell called Ancestral Knowledge, which is 2 mana and overload of 2 to draw 2 cards. Card draw is always something you want to do in the mid/late game anyway so the overload isn't a huge deal, and up until now shaman hasn't had any really good way to get reliable card draw.
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

right so the Grand Tournament is out. Jumped in the Arena last night to see what the new card dump looked like, and wow - we're on a whole new game now. The metagame is gonna be totally different. I feel like there's an intentional stepping away from Taunts too with these new cards. Unless that just happened to be what I saw in the couple of hours that I played. Anyway, interesting stuff. And just further reason why I can't stop playing Hearthstone.

I ran into a new 5/4 4-cost taunt multiple times last night - was tough on my Hunter.

I don't think Joust will have a huge effect - most of them are gamble cards (meaning if you don't win the joust, you'd be better off with a better card at that cost). So, you'll probably see a few Joust decks where they load it with low cost Joust cards and High cost general minions.

The new priest Legendary (summon a legendary every time you use your hero power), in addition to the existing Prophet Velen...wow.

YUP!

I actually really like the "inspire" mechanic. Lots of cool stuff you can do with that.

Inspire is cool, but I don't think it'll have the effect that Charge / Taunt have. Inspire requires you to spend mana the following turn. It's really the only ability that's like that. Stealth / Divine Shield / Taunt / Battlecries / Deathrattles / Charge / Silence - none of them require anything additional after you've laid the card. Also, a lot of the inspire cards seem to be best if played off another inspire card.

I think inspire is really cool, but it definitely isn't going to break the game - only increase the options, which is great, really.

I think I just like the idea that Inspire means that your Hero Power now does 2 things at once...
