My Xbox 360 is a douche-bag

Time for a good old fashioned vent. When I think of my 360 and the way it operates I often think of a shit chucking ape with chainsaws for arms. This piece of equipment has been an excellent pile of crap these last few months. It all started one day when I came home from work, excited to get on Halo 3 with some friends and pwn some n00bs but I couldn't get my disk tray to open. WTF. Open. Open up so I can put a game in you. What the hell? Open. Nothing. I lightly tap the Xbox thinking it will take the hint and open it's damn mouth but it just sat there like the retarded money slurping beast that it is and did nothing. After several moments passed (less than an hour) I found out a way to get it open but once it finally DID it would close itself back up within seconds. So getting a game in and out was always a gamble because I didn't want the game to be like, falling out (my 360 is stood vertically) or even halfway out because I didn't want it getting wedged between the tray and the 360 itself which could possible cause even more damage. THEN if it did manage to fall out I had to perform my voodoo ritual and pray to satan that I could get it open again for another shot. Well, after all this nonsense happens and I think I can live with my box being a douche, I discover it has an ace up its sleeve. I get this 3 red light ring of horror. What is this? Now my Xbox doesn't even turn on? This is getting ridiculous. I try and few more times and nothing. I call tech support and talk to a lovely man/woman named Nar. It's name was Nar. Trying to talk to Nar was like talking to a baby without a face or ears. After repeating my address and several other personal hoo haws I get Nar to tell me that he/she can send me an email with some kind of receipt to put on a box so I can send my xbox in to get fixed. Oh Nar, you card, you took my email down wrong. I should have known, you little stinker. I have to email them BACK and tell them that Nar was an illiterate yokel that should have been given a few more English lessons before being hired into a position where the main focus is to speak to someone English all day long. What nonsense. Well, I get an email back the next day from the folks at Microsoft telling me that I need to call them back to tell the my personal info again. Screw that, I'm through with that endeavor. Where's my GBA?

Man that sucks bigtime. And yeah dealing with tech support or any kind of customer support is the worst.

I've had a similar rant on this board before with my limited 360 experience. I've also remarked that all of my friends are more than willing to put up with crappy hardware to keep playing, even going to the lengths of buying multiple 360's, so that they can keep playing while one is being repaired.

I guess I've been lucky enough to never have to deal with hardware issues, even though I have an old school PS1, a launch dreamcast, and a launch PS2. All still working. So dealing with Microsoft's shenanigans is new to me.

Mine is an early model. First it started freezing up etc then it RROD on me and MS repaird it. Then the disc drive started sticking or giving me errors (which it still does and I'll be damned if I pay 100 bucks to fix it) definetly the worst piece of hardware I've owned. If only PS3 had more games....

After the 360 is replaced with a successor, I will never buy a Microsoft console again. Talk about poor design and cheap parts. My 20Gig 360 RRODed on me last summer and my Elite replacement had a disc reading problem. Not to mention all the other problems people are complaining about across the globe. Boo, they fail.

With the huge backlash and bad press they've gotten from the 360's problems you can bet they are going to make sure the next xbox works flawlessly.

Coming out with 10 different versions of Windows 7 is not giving me high hopes. Some companies never learn, simplicity is the key. Its kind of like all the different versions of consoles this generation, the Wii has one version and is killing Sony and M$.

i had my 360 fail on me too. Went through the same process. Made sure they got my e-mail right over the phone and had them repeat it back to me twice. You just have to be patient with them. I got my xbox back in about a week and a half i think... and it even came with a month of xbox live taped to it to make up for lost time. Worked great since.

Yes- it is a fragile console. Yes, they fucked up the design. But honestly- they are trying to do the best they can now. Some say too little to late. I say- thanks for fixing my xbox for free.

the fact that the 360 is about as crappy (hardware-wise) as a console could possibly be, yet continues to sell very well tells me that the next xbox is going to be as bad as the 360
