Actually it's more like:alienjesus wrote: Don't be silly, New York is where dreams come true! All he has to do is move there and someone will hand him the directors chair and megaphone and point him to the nearest cast of actors ready to get started. And then he can sleep in the enchanted castle and go to Space Mountain in the morning.
Oh wait, I might be getting New York confused with Disneyland.
1) Move to NYC
2) Bust my ass for a year to get far enough into the black so that instead of 60-70 hour work weeks I can get by on only 30-40 work weeks.
3) Spend free time shooting short films and music videos to hone my craft and writing screenplay for first feature
4) Raise funds for first feature, through a combination of Kickstarter and offline funding (grants, et al). Seeing as much of my early works will feature little to no CGI or special effects, overall production will probably take well under a year.
5) Premiere it at next Tribeca Film Festival.
And the rest is so obvious it's pointless to point out.

Woah, tiger. Let's get that bus ticket to a different city first. (I seriously think you should try moving to Raleigh for a higher-paying job, better transportation options, and distance from your family. It is also a pretty cool city, and you might also be able to start honing your craft a bit while you are there and saving up for your trip to NYC.)

Plus, you know, maybe you should, like, already be making those short films and all...

Robert Reed would have liked you.
I'd vote for Wilmington, NC for REPO.
Do we have any of REPO's videos? Is this the longest running mjrjr joke?Ack wrote:Plus, you know, maybe you should, like, already be making those short films and all...
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
If REPO has actually put out a short film yet, I sure haven't seen it.
You know, I always thought REPO was just a really advanced bot, but an mjmjr prank...I kinda like the sound of that...

With thst approach, you will most likely be stuck at #2 the rest or most of the rest of your life unless you get some sort of lucky break.REPO Man wrote:Actually it's more like:alienjesus wrote: Don't be silly, New York is where dreams come true!
