Re: What kind of magazines do you buy?
Ah--the last magazine I subscribed to was Gamefan. I also like to check out Popular Science when I'm in the book store.
I've considered subscribing to a retro magazine but I have a hard time convincing myself that I'll get anything more than I could online.

Play, Games TM, Retro Gamer, Edge, Giant Robot, Monocle.

I use to get the Official Playstation Magazine but I stopped about a couple years ago. Other than the demo disk (which the PSN made pointless) I can get all my news off the internet.

I always mean to subscribe to a bunch of magazines but I never do. I usually just browse through them but if I buy one it's usually motortrend, car and driver, popular science, or some art magazine. I get Time though and browse through that. But dear god they need to come up with something to put on the cover BESIDES OBAMA.
Re: What kind of magazines do you buy?
Electronic Gaming Monthly and Xbox Magazine.I had PSM(unofficial) magazine until I bought my Xbox 360 it's kind of pointless since I only have a PS2 and they started to talk mostly about the PS3.
My non-gaming magazines are Mini Truckin' Magazine and I use to have a subscription to Super Street, that magazine sucks now.

Sound On Sound
Music Tech
Computer Music
Future Music
I dont really get games mags anymore as most of teh news is stale by the time it gets there, however mags with good actual opinions and retro stuff will get bought occasionally -
GamesTM
RetroGamer
EDGE
I also dont really buy car mags anymore as due to my not really like any car post 1993 or so that much, I kinda have read as much as I want about my car fetishes (Italian Cars). I would recomment these however:
Classic & Sports Car
Auto Italia
ClassicCars
Evo

Yeah the news and reviews are normally old by the time the mag goes on sale, unless the publishers happen to give them some exclusive stories.

Whatever I get for free and Popular Mechanics. So yes there is a stack of Game Informer's in my can.

Sound on Sound. (I'm a sound engineer)
Most of the time I only pick up Edge if I know I'm going to be away from the internet for a while or generally need something read whilst on long journeys etc. I used to get Retro Gamer but it's becoming harder and harder to find these days which really sucks. My local shop never has anything decent, I'm lucky to find Edge. The only place that generally has it is WH Smiths in town, but I'm not going that far just for a magazine. I might pick it up when I see it but most times they don't have it anyway
