I'm 26 and I've been meaning to get braces for awhile.

I want to look into Invis-a-line. Heard those are painful. I have to see what the cost is with my insurance through work.

The only problem is that my wisdom teeth came in and never bothered me. I was advised to take them out because of slight discomfort but I still don't have a problem. That may affect my braces situation.

At 26 though should it really matter? I don't really know.

I worked at a school.

My elementary school principal was arrested for multiple sexual assaults. He would randomly call in female students and force them to perform oral sex on him. There was no way that none of his co-workers didn't know what was going on. Disgusting pig.

Mine never bothered me either. Not even a slight discomfort.

Fun fact: My dentist in Ohio committed suicide. I know it's a silly rumor that dentists are prone to suicide, but there ya go.

Hey so are accountants. Easy access if you can get a chair through those thick tempered glass windows in office buildings.

Damn that's dark.

I'm 28 and I've been wanting to get Invis-a-line for a while now (about 10 years). My insurance doesn't cover it. AFAIK, most dental plans don't cover orthodontics. The ones that do usually only cover children that you might have (if they're 18 or younger). When I asked my dentist, they said Invis-a-line is $2k each ($4k for top and bottom). I think my current dentist does an installment payment plan though.

My wisdom teeth came in without a problem, but I only have two of them. I asked the dentist about them once when I had X-rays done. My top right one came in a while back. For a few years, I had the slightest bit of pain every now and then, then it eventually stopped and hasn't bothered me since. What happened was as it was coming in it pushed all my teeth down which actually closed some gaps that I had. Now I only have two small gaps in my top row. My bottom left wisdom tooth is sideways inside the gum. Apparently it'll just stay like that forever and I never have to worry about it. At least, that's what I was told. I'm missing my other two wisdom teeth entirely. Actually, I wish I had the top left one, if it pushed all the teeth on that side then I might not have any gaps lol.

When I asked about Invis-a-line, they told me I would need top and bottom to correct the overbite that I have. I've been wanting to ask again and see if I could just get the top done to close the gaps I have and leave the overbite. I really don't care that I have an overbite. Or maybe there's some other way to close the gaps, as that's the only thing I care about (my teeth are all straight).

Anyways, Invis-a-line is $2k for each set. At least, that's what my dentist quoted me for when I asked a couple years ago.

I had braces for years as a teenager. Then I found out I was supposed to wear a retainer EVERY NIGHT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and I said "screw that" and stopped wearing it. Then a couple years ago I noticed my teeth weren't looking so straight, and found my retainer no longer fit on the bottom; I went to the orthodontist for the first time in well over a decade and had a new retainer made!
I'm wearing it now. I care about my dental health!

Always been good with teeth (though I've only had 1 wisdom tooth removed and have been stalling on the others since one will require actual surgery to get out), but have worn glasses for as long as I can remember.

One small upside to my mother passing away? I no longer have to worry about giving her a heart attack by getting LASIK done. Had my consultation this week and will be getting it done after the first of the year (because it would be stupid not to do FSA for something major like this, and I typically don't contribute to it, so gotta wait for next year). The doctor said the vast majority of consults he sees after about mid august are for the next year, so I'm in good company.

When I got my incisors one of them got out turned 90 degrees so I had braces for most of my life.

Now I only have a slightoverlap that isn't noticiable.

I wore braces for about a year in middle school, because two of my top front teeth (the ones between the front teeth and the canines) never formed. I'm told that's not too uncommon. I've had a partial/retainer with false teeth ever since.

But! I'm looking into getting implants soon. I've had a consult and a 3D scan already this week. Now I'm just waiting for the estimated cost. They already told me that, with everything they're going to have to do, that the whole process is going to take about a year :/

Thanks to hockey pucks, I have three false teeth.

Besides that, not one cavity, not one problem.
