Overkill looks great and over the top, but how does it compare to the 2&3 Return?
I'm thinking of picking up one or the other, but don't know much about the series apart from what I played in the arcade way back

Well 2 & 3 return is $30 max whereas Overkill is going to be $50. Also, the graphics for Overkill are way better, but I've heard there are some frame-rate problems. Other than that I dunno cause I haven't played Overkill, but 2 & 3 Return is well worth it!

I'm picking up a Wii today, and this just might be on the list as well.

I've heard good things about the hand-cannon. It's just a plastic thing, it's not an actual controller, but it beats using the stupid crossbow thing or just the remote on it's own. So if you get either game (they're both great games if you like lightgun games) make sure you pick up the hand cannon for some authentic lightgun action. Playing these games with a wii remote sucks. I hate moving a reticule no matter what the input device. I'd rather have a gun.

Is there a good spot to import the hand cannons? The only info i could find on it says it is Australia only. Will an australian disc run on a us wii?
I'm guessing no.
Oh! And i played overkill a little bit at the new york comic con. One thing i really enjoyed about it that isn't in the 2 and 3 games is that the game tracks headshots you get in a row into combos for more points. I hope that you get to unlock some cool gear the bigger the combos. That would be fun. There are also some cool powerups that make the bodies expolode in blood. Fun stuff.
I'm a big fan of light gun games, and the house of the dead series is fantastic on the wii. I really hope that this is a trend and we get more quality light gun games on it.

I heard bad things about the hand cannon - poorly balanced... Nyko Perfect Shot is still king.

really? how can you poorly balance a shell of plastic?bobbynewmarkiii wrote:I heard bad things about the hand cannon - poorly balanced... Nyko Perfect Shot is still king.
i do love my perfect shot- but the hand cannon looks great. Both guns are dying for a new paint job.

"Much as we would like to, we can't recommend the official Hand Cannons - beautiful, chunky, gloriously out-sized pieces of moulded plastic they may be, but they're also heavy, off-balance and very uncomfortable to use."
not my words, sure i've read this else where as well tho...

If I had to choose one, I would go for 2/3. Not just because you get two games, but because 2 is just that good, and it is cheaper. I have yet to play Overkill, but it is hard to top two excellent games for cheaper.
