Shining Wisdom is not good. I mean, its action-RPG core is fun, but the main mechanic is REALLY ANNOYING. If I'm remembering correctly, you need to press A and C repeatedly and alternatively on the controller to "build up speed" then hold B to keep that speed. YOU NEVER LET YOUR THUMB OFF B and you need to charge more than you'd like.

It ends up hurting your hands to play! The story's pretty bland. AND the graphics are ugly early CGI model-sprites. Go ahead and play it if you're hardcore about Shining and Working Designs, but keep your expectations LOW.

Also: why the hell is the American Sega Ages going for as much money as it is on eBay? I mean, yeah, it's technically a Working Designs game but aren't all its included titles available elsewhere for a lot less? I severely regret not getting it when it was $30-40...

I've long wished that we'd get more of the Shining games brought to PC.
What is on PC? Just the three Genesis games, right?

unfortunately, yeah.

Which reminds me, it's a total bummer that the 3 Genesis Phantasy Star games are on PC, but not the original SMS game. :\

Yeah I noticed that myself. Original Phantasy Star is on PS3/Xbox 360 at least, via Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

this is true, though I seriously don't remember the last time I played a game on a console. I'm more likely to import the Saturn or PS2 remake of Phantasy Star, patch it and play it on PC than I am to play the SMS game on PS3/360. :|

So I've had the three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games on the PC for a few years now but never played them (blame Steam sales).

I have been watching a couple of Lets Play videos online lately and I want to dive in! Looking for the weekend to take a crack at it. I've got plenty of time into Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas which the series reminds me of. So it should be fun.

Start with Shadow of Chernobyl and play the games in order. When you play them, make sure they are patched fully and then check to see if there are fan patches available. The base version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has some serious issues, a few of which are game breaking, but this was all fixed over time.

After that, Clear Sky is considered the low point of the series, because it feels like an expanded remake of Shadow of Chernobyl with some annoying gang warfare components. Call of Pripyat is the final game, and it's my favorite in the series, so I suggest saving it for last.

I absolutely love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and consider it the best FPS franchise of the 2000s. They offer an excellent combination of horror and action, and I have never gotten bored with them. I will also say that Clear Sky is one of the few games to ever make me scream out loud. Watch out for the bloodsuckers. They are bastards.

I spent at least an hour and a half last night watching the character endings for e few Tekken games.

I love them all, even the endings from Tekken 2 and 3, as they're "cool". Each character has their own style of ending as well, which makes them a pleasure to watch.

Nvidia's new announcemnt is amazing:
a new feature called Share, built around streaming gameplay video to Twitch or to a single friend with a direct, encrypted stream. Share’s big selling point is the latter form of streaming, which Nvidia calls GameStream Co-Op; you email a friend an invite to the stream via GFE, and can talk over integrated voice chat, give them direct control of the game, and let them jump in for co-op.
