Cool, thanks for the info. Yeah, I like a good corridor shooter, older style controls and all. I really liked the Alien game for Playstation, and the 3DO game Killing Time really imprinted on my memory.
(Did this one get released on any other system, does anyone know?? I'd just about give my nuts to be able to play it on a handheld!)
Regarding tabletop gaming, it was never my scene. God knows I tried, but we would only end up cracking jokes or someone would crap out for whatever reason. As I said, though, I've been present for various stuff -- Marvel Heroes rpg, D&D, RIFTS, Robotech, etc.
Maybe now that I'm older it's something I'll explore again. I've got a stack of original D&D manuals somewhere in storage.....70s and 80s stuff, mostly.

Lou, if you have any of the woodbox or whitebox manuals in decent shape, I will trade you handsomely for them. Video, Board, or Tabletop games.

Ah, cool. I dunno a "whitebox" or a "woodbox" from a plate of fried eggs, heh, but I'll Google.
I do know that some of them are older, because they belonged to my brother in the 70s. You know, the ones with more of the 'old timey' font as opposed to the later logo that we all know?
Edit: I remember some being very plain looking, almost like newspaper covers. Also, one had a centaur, a red dragon, and a unicorn done in kind of a bright/whimsical way.....I stared at that cover for hours as a little kid, heh.

Killing Time? Yeah, it saw ports to PC and Mac OS in the mid-90s. It just got announced for Bernie Stolar's ZOOM platform a month ago.

The woodbox is first edition, the whitebox is 2nd-10thish edition. Pretty much they are the ones that were handassembled in the TSR office. Whitebox are somewhat easily available, but the woodbox is rare. If you can take pictures of them later, I can help you figure out what you have. I was heavy into table tops for about a decade, but have lost my local groups so I have stopped playing completely. I always wanted an early edition, I have a copy of Chainmail and Wilderness Adventure, so I just need the D&D books and I have the whole setup.

Ah, gotcha. It's been years since I have accessed them and I don't know when I'll be able to unearth them (they are in the corner of a unit covered in roughly 100 18-gallon plastic totes), but I've marked you down in my notebook and you will be the first to know.

Thanks for the info, Ack. I never play games on the computer, so I'm wondering if there is a way to play this game on a modded PSP?
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
It will require a whole lot of work, but it is theoretically possible to run Killing Time via DOSBox emulator on the PSP. At least, it is possible to run Killing Time with some work on DOSBox, and there is a PSP version of DOSBox. As for whether it would be worth it...that is up to you.
Or you could simply join the ranks of the glorious PC gaming master race. We would happily welcome you with open arms and flowing goldike locks of hair.

I'll sit down for a PS2/NES/etc. game now and then, but for the most part, it's PSP/DS/GBA/etc.
When you say "a lot of work", what exactly do you mean? It's certainly not anything I can do myself, so would it be the sort of job that would cost me a bit in trade goods/$$$?
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
I'm saying it might require a buddy who is a bit more tech savvy and might not actually be possible to get it to work, as I don't think anyone has ever tried to do it. It's also on the sketchy side of things, admittedly. I also wouldn't pay money for anyone to do it.

Ah, right. Oh well, maybe a lost cause for now, in that case. I know that handheld/mobile gaming is moving along at a fast clip, so hopefully I'll get to play it before too much longer!
In the meantime, I'm sure there are scores of 'old school' 3D shooters that I can delight myself with.
