Where are the other genres?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Where are the other genres?

Post by Zork »

I was just curious as to why there are only three genres listed under the genre tab in the forums. Shmups, Fighters, and RPGs. I was like "Where is racing, and strategy, and other shooting games?" I also noticed that the Platformers genre is gone. I understand that some things can be lumped into a general genre like in "Fighting" you put things in there like actual fighting games, the brawler games where you just walk around and beat crap up and a few other things, and in RPGs you can put a few subgenres of RPG in there as well. But why aren't there more? Just curious.

It all boils down to activity, I guess.

I'm trying to consolidate a bit instead of having a bunch of sub-categories.
Platformers got merged into Whatever because there was hardly and activity.
Same goes with moving SNK and Portable into the Other Platforms.
