I've passed over so many of the Atlus RPGs lately that it's ridiculous. Probably on account of my not having finished SMTIV, EOIV, or EO Untold. :(

Admittedly these Atlus DRPGs are formulaic, and missing one or two here or there isn't gonna hurt ya. I love the formula though, and collect them for the future. (A future where I go ever more crazy and play older and older games.)

So Child of Light has a physical Vita release in the US, huh? Not much hub-bub about this - didn't even know it existed until I saw it at GameStop. Hell, GameFAQs doesn't even have the box art.

Guess I can take that PAL version off my wishlist.

I'll get to playing this, ya know, eventually. I've heard good things.

Yeah, I'll probably snag that release when I own a Vita. I've shown remarkable restraint to this point, especially with Exhuminator trying to convince me at every turn. ;)

I almost always prefer physical over digital, but ended up doing Child of Light on Wii U when it was marked down to $4. The Vita version looks fantastic... but at $25 the price difference was just too much to argue. (Plus getting another game on Wii U is never a bad thing.)

Started playing Freedom Wars recently. Not sure if I really enjoy it yet or not. The futuristic, distopian setting is an interesting change but I'm not feeling the controls yet. Heard this was close to Monster Hunter but so far it all feels more frenetic and less strategic... of course, I've invested so much time in Monster Hunter that it's really unfair to compare.

Just about to move to the second level, and strongly suspect that my impressions will improve as I let go of expectations and enjoy the game for what it is.

Once you get a few more freedoms things get better. Can't remember if it's lvl 2 or 3 but you start getting to choose your squad make up as well as put points towards giving them better gear which really improves things quite a bit. My favorite freedom had to be fast travel saves so much time when you are in the hub world. Another game changer is factories which I think you unlock at code 2.

Thinking about buying a PS Vita TV since the price has dropped so low. I understand that only half~ish of the Vita games work on the TV. I also know there's no netflix support. Which is fine, since I no longer watch TV.

I have a few questions before I take the plunge.
-My girlfriend has a Vita, a PS3, and a Playstation account. Can I use her account to play games she has already downloaded?
-Is there any way to transfer physical PSP games to my Vita TV?
-Will the Vita TV display a signal on my monitor if I use an HDMI to DVI adapter?
-Does the Vita TV work well with the PS4 controller? Can I use the headphone port on the PS4 controller to listen to my Vita games?
Edit: a few more
-Can I play .mp3 files or video files from a USB drive?
-How's the emulator scene on Vita?
-Any way I can transfer my physical PS1 games to Vita TV?
-What the heck is a PS Mini?

-My girlfriend has a Vita, a PS3, and a Playstation account. Can I use her account to play games she has already downloaded? Yes, but just her account and profile only. Can't use a separate profile with her games.
-Is there any way to transfer physical PSP games to my Vita TV? Nope.
-Will the Vita TV display a signal on my monitor if I use an HDMI to DVI adapter? You may need to check for HDCP compliance, but yes, it can.
-Does the Vita TV work well with the PS4 controller? Can I use the headphone port on the PS4 controller to listen to my Vita games? By all reports, it works better with PS4 controller, but I like using it with the PS3 controller. Not sure on headphone jack.
Edit: a few more
-Can I play .mp3 files or video files from a USB drive? Nope. USB is for a controller port only (unless in recovery mode), but you can stream from PS4 or transfer to memory card a number of ways.
-How's the emulator scene on Vita? Nonexistent. Homebrews, mostly, and progress is slow.
-Any way I can transfer my physical PS1 games to Vita TV? Nope.
-What the heck is a PS Mini? A PSP/PS3/Vita game very small in size; usually for old games from PC or arcade, or for games with not so great productions.

So I love collecting and playing PS Vita games as much as the next guy, but does anyone else feel like the game cartridges are rather cheaply made?

I didn't love the case design, but had no problem with the cartridges themselves. Then again, I don't actually handle the cards that often - tend to leave one in for extended periods of time instead of swapping regularly.

What were your expectations for what is a glorified SD card? Or what were you comparing them too? I do find that 3DS cards are more solid, but don't really see the need as long as they aren't kid-owned.
