Even my friends who have played hundreds upon hundreds of hours of the game still think this is the game's biggest issue.

BTW, wasn't there a remake of Goldeneye using the Source engine? Or am I imagining things?
I still love the controls. I cant play the "modern" style shooters because of it.

But the remake you were think of is this:

But playing Goldeneye with a Mouse and Keyboard is odd. It feels like a slowed down version of HL2DM with different weapons and a kicking soundtrack.

Edge published one of those "Best games ever made" list that pop up every so and then and it reaffirmed my suspicion that I'm not really that much of a contrarian, it's simply that the games I have contrarian opinions on tend to be more popular or well-known than the games I don't.

In other words, nobody cares how many shmups I like if I slam Grand Theft Auto V.

[insert number here] best [whatever] of all time articles are the worst kind of clickbait trash.

Also, I love how all these "best games ever" lists primarily feature games released within the last 10 years. Interesting interpretation of the word "ever."

EGM's list in 1997, 2002, and 2006 were pretty awesome. (The 2006 list actually featured a lot of second generation arcade and console games.) Those lists are pretty hard to find, however, and they were written before "clickbait trash" was really a thing. (The primary fault with the lists is that, since EGM only covered console games, they do not feature any PC games.)

Yeah I'm inclined to ignore any list that ignores the second gen era.

That 2006 list you linked isn't bad. But come on, Ys Book I & II all the way down at #153!

True.

At least it made that list, however, and have you seen any other list where Space Invaders outranks The Ocarina of Time?

I've been playing a lot of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 recently, and I absolutely love the soundtrack. Anyone who doesn't is no longer my friend.
I've also been getting into Street Fighter recently, and I can say that SFIV has the ugliest art style I've ever seen in a fighting game, and this is coming from someone who hates most anime art.

I guess we're not friends then, because I think that the "Take You For A Ride" song on the character selection screen is pretty much the worst song ever.

EDIT: And......it's stuck in my head again. Thanks, 3DSStrider...

My little stepbrother was watching me play one day. A few hours later he was singing "I wanna take the boogie ride."
I get so mad everytime I watch tournaments where they replace the soundtrack.

FYI...If she is in the same room, my wife will only let me play the game on mute.
