As a Democrat, I couldn't be happier with Trump's success. I wish him the nomination or, even better, a strong third-party candidacy.

His real estate in the Persian Gulf being built essentially using slave labour makes him a cunt in my book.

Basically, GOP presidency = Established dynasties. Democrat = Potential dynasties

You arent too much better off with Hillary as the top Dem choice. What a bunch of unlikable candidates.

Hey, at least we have folks willing to challenge the Bush political dynasty. How is Queen Clinton doing lording over your party again?

Yeah, I really don't want Jeb Bush. I know the money people are behind him, though. There are a lot of ostensibly conservative institutions that aren't exactly conservative anymore. They're just a bunch of cronies, and it happens on both sides all the time. There are very few true statesmen / women left.

Hillary is... well, we hit on unlikable over in another thread, and she fits the bill. Not that likability is something that should be the end-all, be-all. I mean, Trump's not a likable sort, either. That would be an interesting matchup, for sure. Not one I want, but it'd be full of all sorts of fireworks.

There's a reason that Bernie Sanders is drawing so many folks in. I'm sure a lot of it is that his message resonates with the modern-day Democratic voter, but another component is that there are a lot of folks that just don't like Hillary.

Oh, speaking of dynasties, the Clintons are definitely their own dynasty, as were the Kennedys before them. I mean, for crying out loud, they even called it Camelot! The Bushes would be a dynasty, but I'm coming up short on others on the GOP side.

Trump doesn't want to be President. Trump doesn't think he should be President.

Trump only wants an ego driven carnival that might make him some scratch.

This is PR people. If you think the electoral college would approve of Trump you have lost your marbles. You haven't only lost them, you didn't have marbles to begin with.

Oh, there's no question that the GOP would never let him get the nomination. Unless, of course, there's so much support for him that not giving it to him would nuke the entire party.

I'm not sure the conventional ego-trip narrative works in this case, though. The longer he stays in this, the longer I think he really is concerned about how things seem to be going in the country. Doesn't mean I necessarily trust him, but that doesn't mean it's all about him and money. He lost a ton of sponsors and business deals with some of his remarks, and he's still trucking.

The GOP has got a huge conundrum on their hands if he maintains popular support all the way up to the nomination. The chances of that are slim, but we're seeing something that defies all conventional wisdom. Give him the nomination, or deny him and have him run third-party, guaranteeing a Democratic win. They're in a sticky spot for sure.

Make no mistake, if Trump took that "pledge" during the debate, the GOP would focus every single ounce of energy they had to drive him from the race. They would absolutely destroy him. It was smart of Trump to keep that leverage.

Dude. I don't know how to phrase this without sounding like a jerk, but is your gerbil on the wheel? It's always about him and his money (or lack of).

This is like hampton howie stern running for President. It's all about PR, ego, and money. It's an opportunity to promote his brand and ego. It's all build up for a reality show and gaining interest.

Not that anyone asked, but Bernie suits me. He's basically Lewis Black who knows his politics. He's a leader. He's pissed off. He has solutions to our Nation's problems from left to right and doesn't care if you agree with him. He cares about CORE issues. He wants to fix the USA before we fix Syria.

I'm no expert on politics, but I do love his charisma for adopting leadership while being our President. Bernie has a bit of a "screw you, I know how to fix things" attitude, and I love it.

The best thing about American politics is always how they raise European pop-corn sales ^_^

Greek politics are just too depressing
