Had some black ramen a few days ago. Never heard of it until last week, but it's really tasty. Basically, it's ramen with pitch black broth, and it's loaded with black pepper. It's very much like peppercorn steak, if you've ever had one. If you ever find black ramen in the US, give it a shot.

Tonight's dinner will be corn and shredded zucchini hash with bacon and a fried egg. Looking forward to it!

Trying something new tonight. Making Salmon sliders on sweet rolls with a hoison glaze topped with red lettuce, avocado, and pineapple. Snow peas as a side dish.
Salmon is mixed with an egg, chopped jalapeno, diced garlic, and two ritz crackers.
The glaze is made with hoison (koon chun), rice wine, pineapple juice, soy, and freshly chopped ginger.
I usually don't go for the "Asian Zing!" recipes, but I'm feeding a small army tonight that likes the American version of Chinese foods.

One of those new Ghost Pepper Daredevil Loaded Grillers from Taco Bell. The heat stays in you long after you finish it, that's a good feeling.

The real burn comes from knowing you are at Taco Bell.TSTR wrote:I tried one of these the other day. Barely spicy, was disappoint.ExedExes wrote:One of those new Ghost Pepper Daredevil Loaded Grillers from Taco Bell. The heat stays in you long after you finish it, that's a good feeling.

That and the inevitable butt sludge.
Re: What are you eating?
I bought and ate some "irregular bacon" last night. And by "irregular" I mean "little fat". It was two bucks a pound, so I jumped.
It was okay. Tasted more like smoked ham than bacon (yes, I know bacon is smoked ham) but it lacked something in texture. Didn't taste like bacon, if that makes sense.
So if you are a fan of breakfast for dinner (or breakfast in general), toast a bagel, and make your own whipped cream cheese. It's nothing new, delicious, and easy to make.
Put some regular cream cheese in a food processor, add what you'd like, and see your dollars stretch. I used about a quarter cup of cream cheese, added about a cup of freshly sliced pineapple, and I have enough of it left for five to six days.
And if you have never tried smoked salmon cream cheese, do. It sounds funky, and it is, but is it is also delicious.
Going to try making cheddar-wursts tonight. Won't be eating until after 7pm, so I have the time to try this out.
I have sausage casings, ground pork, ground veal, cheddar, and tons of fennel and other spices. My only worry is about the cheddar. It doesn't melt, it separates. The meat is lean at only 7% fat, but I'm thinking cheddar isn't the best cheese to use.
Well, I'll find out.
