I refuse to leave New England / eastern Canada.
I shall never eat chicken and waffles or any of these other bizarre abominations you all speak of.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
All this talk of chicken and waffles makes me think about when I first got this little 'bartenders' book from the thrift store. On my first perusal, I didn't make it past the C listings, because I found an entry called "Chicken Shot" and had to stop, or else risk throwing up in my mouth a little.
I really have no desire to eat chicken and waffles, but there's a far better chance of me trying that, than there is of me ever giving the Chicken Shot a go.

Go back to your book and tell me if the "Urine Sample" is in there.Michi wrote:All this talk of chicken and waffles makes me think about when I first got this little 'bartenders' book from the thrift store. Could be the same thing, maybe not, but I once had a shooter (larger shot glass) that consisted of a shot of tequila, a dash of tabasco, and a raw egg. It was unusual.Michi wrote: I really have no desire to eat chicken and waffles, but there's a far better chance of me trying that, than there is of me ever giving the Chicken Shot a go.
Anyone else see a NFL player eat a whole raw egg, shell and all? His advice "You crunch up the shell with your teeth and mix it with the yolk in your mouth". So the next time tells you "I'd try anything once" give them a raw egg and tell them to eat the whole thing.
That, or make them a chicken shot. Not sure which is worse.

Interesting... There are several major genre-based fiction writing organizations in the US. They all have different join requirements for full membership:
The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America(1,800 members) require you sell your work at a minimum of 6¢ a word.
The Horror Writers Association(1,250 members) requires you sell your work at a minimum of 5¢ a word or for comparative rates in comics, RPGs, video games, television, etc.
The Western Writers of America(650 members) require you have published at least 3 novels or 20 short stories, and at minimum 1/3 of your work must be Westerns or about the frontier.
The Mystery Writers of America(no idea, they don't reveal it) require you have published professionally, but they will review your candidacy to choose if you qualify.
The Romance Writers of America(9,000 members) require you write predominantly romance fiction, can show proof of publication of at least 20,000 words, and you must produce at least 20,000 words of romance fiction every three years.
In short:
SciFi/Fantasy requires fantastic rates.
Horror lets you spread fear across multiple mediums.
Westerns require you have fortitude.
Mystery doesn't reveal a thing.
Romance requires you find love again and again and again.

It is indeed. But since urine is not one of the ingredients, Chicken Shot still outmatches it in 'ick' factor.Ack wrote:Go back to your book and tell me if the "Urine Sample" is in there.
