Anyone Pick Up Oneechanbara?

Post by MrPopo »

I must say, I'm definately getting my $30 worth with this game. It's just a lot of mindless fun, and the combat system is deeper than it seems at first glance. It really reminds me of the gameplay of No More Heroes, with the need to switch up attack types depending on how the enemy reacts. The boss fights are the major departure, as in No More Heroes they were all about pattern recognition, while Oneechanbara so far they've been "here's a guy with a lot of health and cool attacks. Go whack on it". Hell, both games even have a weapon recharge mechanic; the battery in NMH and flicking the blood off your blade in Oneechanbara.

I was worried it was going to suck. It got panned by reviewers, but I rarely listen to them. I may pick it up for 360 today, along with a Wii and Loco Roco 2.

The way I would describe it is as such: it doesn't pretend to be more than it is. It's chicks killing lots of zombies. No more, no less.

exactly. I'll probably pick up the wii version and wait for the 360 one to drop in price.
