I suddenly am feeling an urge to play bomberman. I heard the best version of the game is the Saturn version. The problem is, I don't have a Saturn. So I was going to buy one but I want to know if it's worth getting it just to play bomberman. Is it?
Also, about how much should I pay for a sega saturn (with cords and a controller)? How much should I pay for extra controllers (Made by Sega)? How much should I pay for Bomberman? How much should I pay for Bomberman 64?
Is it worth getting a Saturn for bomberman?

I'd say it's worth it even if you dont have any games right now. cause you always come across old games. I only played bomberman 64 and i loved it.

saturn bomberman is freaking awesome- up to 10 players if you can justify owning that many controllers and a couple multi-taps. If it were me, I'd spend the money, but i don't know your budget and what things are 'worth' to you, so i really can't say. in the realm of 40 bucks isn't too bad for a saturn console... search ebay for completed listings for the other stuff, or hit up VGPC.com for the game prices.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

I don't really need to play ten players or anything like that. How good are the Bomberman games for the SNES? Which one is the best? Is anyone of them almost as good as the Saturn Bomberman?

i'm spoiled as i had saturn bomberman as a youngin, but the one's i've played on SNES don't even come close. can't remember which one was good, but like i said, the snes bomberman games don't hold a candle to saturn bomberman. the story mode, master mode, and multiplayer are all spectacular.slowslow325 wrote:I don't really need to play ten players or anything like that. well, i just checked ebay and about shit myself. i used to have several of those multitaps, I only kept one (which can get you seven players total) but I basically gave a couple of them away some years back.

I don't even have Saturn Bomberman, and the Saturn is one system that I'll never unhook from my TV.
Well, except now, since it seems that my laser has gone out. Of course, the fact that I'm looking for another Saturn should be sign enough that it's worth it even without Saturn Bomberman.
And of course, I still want to get Saturn Bomberman, it's just too damn expensive. Guardian Heroes was cheaper, and THAT is a reason to own a Saturn.

I guess that really depends on if you consider any system worth owning solely for a bomberman game.... even the best bomberman. I would say most likely not, HOWEVER, the saturn is worth owning for the library of unique and excellent games one of which is Saturn Bomberman. Be warned though, that most of the really high quality saturn games will cost you the price of a new current gen console game (which includes saturn bomberman in most cases). I think this investment is def. worth it though as saturn emulation has made little headway since the system died, as made apparent by the fact that nintendo, microsoft, and sony don't offer any games for download on their virtual game stores, while psx and n64 games are made readily available. I would say directly behind the dreamcast the saturn was the next biggest commercial failure of a console that had a great library of original games. Any way long story (answer) short....... maybe?..... Saturn is worth owning on its own merits with a great library, and saturn bomberman kicks ass.... go buy one. 40-50 dollars for a saturn w/ av and power cables and at least one controller.

My roommate recently had a huge craving for Bomberman too. We had to settle for the WiiWare version because the bank account isn't too full when you're a college kid. We were both hugely let down since we were both used to the Saturn version. If you honestly have the money and really want it, go for it. It's the best version of Bomberman I've ever played.
