In theory is the story on how Naruto and Hinata fall in love... but yeah in the middle there's a battle in the moon with two giants, saving the world from the moon falling and them having a metaphoric connection with a red scarf... yeah you know what are my problems with this movie are the same with the show; it goes WAAAAAAY TOO OVER THE TOP!

At the beggining of the movie i was "oh i should watch naruto again" and at the end "now i remember why i quit that show".
I enjoyed Naruto up until the bridge fight where Naruto loses control and the Nine-Tail Demon power comes out and he kicks some ass. I don't know why I lost interest after that... Perhaps I will go back and try to watch it again.

Shipuuden has been horrible recently I've let around 30 episodes pile up since my last viewing spurt and just can't bring myself to go back and watch them again. Literally every "New" episode was 75% flashback/recaps with very little true progression in the story, and even with that they take a break every 4-5 episodes to shoot off on a 5+ episode filler arc it feels like :P.

Definitely use a guide to avoid the fillers if you watch it again or else you will quickly get burnt out. I mean some of them are pretty sad such as the Battleship Island arc in which Naruto having defeated countless enemies and basically having the power to wipe cities off the face of the earth gets his ass kicked by standard pirates. Then 2 to 3 episodes later he nearly gets killed after eating some shrooms and having a bad trip  .

I know how naruto ends, i got enough when i felt the dissapointment that Obito was the guy behind the mask (way too predictable and the excuse for world domination was really LAME) and they always want to do the "BUT WAIT THERES MORE!" with the bad guys.

Just WAY over the top, over complicated (or trying to sound complicated by just addin more and more bad guys into the final fight), and i hate that sasuke just changes between good and bad with the turn of a switch. Story is just dumb at this point.

I just finished The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Wow, I'm seriously impressed by this show! It starts off as a kind of typical 90s comedy (something I'm totally fine with) where most of the humor is derived from how completely idiotic Tylor is while somehow coming out ahead in every situation. But as the series progresses it becomes a lot more meaningful and the viewer (and ship's crew) comes to like Tylor more and more. The last couple episodes are straight-up dramatic and it TOTALLY WORKS without feeling like there's a sudden tonal shift.

I loved it and would HIGHLY recommend it to fans of 90s anime!

Captain Tylor is definitely a classic, I loved it too. There's also a 10 episode OVA series as well if you haven't seen that yet.

i started watching full metal alchemist: brotherhood....and something just seems off about it.

i've already seen the original full metal alchemist series, so everything so far has just been basically recap. but the pacing is just really off. it's too fast. i kind of understand why they are doing it. the original series caught up to the anime and broke off to do its own ending. now brotherhood is starting over faithful to the manga. so they're speeding through until they split. but it just feels like a compromise that pleases no one. people who have already seen the series, like me, will be put off by the pacing, and people who haven't seen the original won't know what's going on because it's going too fast and skipping large sections.

i really hope the pacing slows down once it becomes new material.

It definitely slows down once it hits the new material. There's still a ton going on, but it doesn't feel like it's on fast forward like the beginning does.

The first thirteen episodes of FMA: Brotherhood suck. They're not good. But if you get past them, the rest of the series is top-notch!

It's part of the reason I'm extremely hesitant to recommend FMA to people. "Okay, so you can watch the first series which has pretty dated visuals and has weird pacing and a messy ending... or you can watch the newer series but the first several episodes are bad and were treated much better in the original series so it helps if you've seen that original first... or you can read the manga, which is over twenty volumes long so you're looking at potentially losing an entire bookshelf if you don't want to read them on your computer and can't get them from your library."

IMO the manga is the most definitive FMA experience but I really liked both anime versions too. But I'm not 100% sure they're enough to hook someone with only a casual interest in anime nowadays.

Updates!:

Cowboy Bebop (26/26): You guys know the drill. I'm in love with this series. It ended so well, and....God, I have no way to put this in words. It's a great series. 10/10 for sure.

Attack on Titan (18/26): Caught my interest again, with the female titan idea. Hoping it's still solid.

Sword Art Online II (17/25): Finished the Excalibur arc, which was pretty boring....If you like the characters at all, you'll like this arc, but otherwise, I don't recommend it at all.
Though, at the same time, I actually think SAO should've worked MORE like this arc did; just make it less boring, and less about, "Kirito and his Harem", and more about the characters, and I'd be sold.

Michiko & Hatchin (5/22): Missed an episode, but I still like it as much as I did the last I mentioned it, so that's good.

Tokyo Majin (3/24) (DROPPED): I freaking hated this series....There's so much wrong with it, that I can't even think of a genuine pro (or a massive one, that gets it over a 5/10). I had to drop it. It was annoying me way too much....

Devil May Cry (3/12): Meh, this one's alright, but it's oddly catching my interest, out of nowhere. Feels like Bebop, with the whole, "random stories that are loosely connected" ideal, but it ain't as good.

Black Blood Brothers (3/12): This one was a surprise to me. Everyone said this one was, "OK", or, "Meh", but I ended up liking it a lot. Too bad Chiller's Anime block died, though. I have to buy the series now to finish it (which is fine by me).
This user really likes SEGA Saturn. Avoid at all costs.

Hmm, I must say that I find Attack on Titan pretty mediocre. I've tried more then once to get into it, but I just can't.
