Return of Battletech

Post by Jmustang1968 »

http://battletechgame.com/

Harebrained Schemes who has brought us the Shadowrun Returns games is coming out with a new Battletech game. The studio head is Jordan Weisman, who we interviewed on the old podcast, and was the original Battletech/Mech Warrior creator.

Battletech is going to be in the tactical RPG style gameplay, so no new 1st person MechWarrior style game here.

Could be interesting. I was a big fan of Battletech back in the day. My brother and I probably had almost every book from that universe.

That was the web based one right? But no, this will be in the vein of the 90s style Battletech games. Mech Commandwr and Battletech. This is also going to be a KS game like Harebrained has been doing.

If it's turn based tactical style, I'm all for it.

Now I am interested. And yes, it was the web based one.

This sounds like Crescent Hawk's Revenge 2.

My body is ready.

I was never a big fan of the MechCommander games, but I am a big fan of the universe (used to read the books as well) so we'll see.

It's turn based so that's good.

Consider me intrigued at this point. I never really played Battletech before, but I was deep into the first two Mech Warrior titles on the PC and put a LOT of hours. Mind you I know those were more action oriented, so that's why I'm curious and not on board.

I am curious and carefully optimistic. Just earlier this year I finished reading through all the original BattleTech and Mechwarrior novels in story-chronological order and it was a great ride. Going through the Dark Ages novels now, but it's just not the same...
