Sonic CD, to me, is rather overrated. Something about it just doesn't click with me.

I think I actually like the original Sonic the most, and it'd be made perfect if you had the spin-dash maneuver. I think some of the ports of the game do include this option.

How was Sonic 4? I always heard it was passable, but the physics felt really off. I'd love to at least try it, but I don't want to drop the cash for it, honestly.

I agree with sonic cd being overrated. It's just too big for its own good. 2 was the peak for me. Jp OST for CD is super boss though.

I don't hate Mike Matei, but it doesn't take long for him to get on my nerves when I watch him in a video for any extended period of time. He comes across as an impetuous fourteen year old teenager in a thirty something year old man's body. Maybe that's just his on screen persona and in real life he's more mature. But after seeing the inside of his apartment I doubt that.

Back in the day, the AVGN was first hosted on ScrewAttack. I did a little work on their forums back then, so I grew to know some of the people behind the scenes from that site.

I've never had any problems and I question some of the sources, but from what I have heard...Mike Matei is exactly what you described on camera and off. He was a chore and a pain. That is what I heard...

And since I'm here, I might as well post something Unpopular...

I hate all online games or any online functionality in games.

CD is just a really divisive game. People either really love it or really hate it. It's rare I find anyone who falls in-between. It's very different from the other Sonics while having the same core elements so it's not really surprising that there's such a divide.

I didn't really play Sonic CD until the early 2000's so I wonder if I had played it when it was new how I would have reacted to it.

Sonic 4 Episode 1 is extremely bland and pointless. Episode 2 is an improvement, but it's still nothing that the GBA and DS Sonic games didn't do better.
Mike Mattei
I've got no ill will towards the guy. I don't like the content he produces really and I don't watch it so I've got nothing to complain about.

To set the record strait: Sonic 3 & Knuckles is better than Sonic 1 is roughly equivalent to Sonic 2 is roughly equivalent to Sonic CD.

That is all.

Sonic R is the best Sonic Game....live with it! (I feel like I say this every time this argument comes up)

Seriously though, Sonic R isn't that bad, you just have to learn how to control the game. Use the R and L buttons almost exclusively for turning and drive it like the Daytona game on the Sega Dreamcast with the D-pad pressed straight up and using the diagonals to help turn and the game is a cakewalk. Also... Dr. Robotnik all the way!

My favorite Sonic game is Tails Adventure on the Game Gear.

No argument (except for the Robotnik part). I always loved Sonic R. It was one of the first games that I got for the Saturn, outside of the 3 free games pack, as a kid.

Whaaaaat?! robotnik is the way to go when you want to unlock everything. Seriously the guy can go out of bounds with no speed detriment.
