Total Control 3:Saturn to Dreamcast controller adapter

Post by fredthezombie »

Yes, the title should explain. Does anyone have experience with this product? I need a better alternative for fighting games and this seems the dream solution.

I bought one a few months back when I found it for a good price, but I haven't had the chance to use it yet. Reviews all said that it works fine. The only negative points I could find about it, IIRC, was that the VMU socket can be flaky. Which isn't surprising. The VMU in a DC controller has the socket the it slides into. On the Total Control 3, it's just the pins. I picture a VMU hanging there being kinda fragile.

I love mine, works absolutely flawlessly. Until I sat on it on the couch with the VMU in it and now the VMU slot is broken. :( as long as you don't sit on it it should work great

Great! Thanks for the info, by chance does anyone know if the Saturn lightgun can be used with it?

I have one as well. It worked great for a long time, however, somehow the controller port got damaged and now it doesn't work. Bummer too because it's a nice device. I've since upgraded to ASCII DC FightPads so I don't really have a need for it but I'd still recommend it. Just be careful with it. I can't say if it works with Saturn light guns as I never tested that.

Same here, I have Saturn lightguns but no DC lightgun games.

edit: OH! I just remembered that Virtua Cop 2 is on the Sega Smash Pack, so I can test this out when I get the chance!
