Phantasy Star is longer than I remember. The again, playing only 45-60 minutes per day isn't helping.
Just got the little robot buddy.

Re: RPG Progress Report
It's funny that when you think you beat the game, you're only 3/4 of the way through, awesome twist for the time it came out.

Re: RPG Progress Report
My Zerker triple Bard run is finished! I ended up grinding up to about 1600 HP on all my bards, then found that was still too low to survive Almagest but didn't want to go back and grind more (I was level 44 and each level took far more exp than I wanted to grind). So I ended up adjusting my strategy to make use of Hide. After several iterations I settled on Rune Axe on my Zerker (who had a great Magic stat from Equip Harp), one Bard with Equip Axe for the Mjolnir from the back, then two Bards with Hide. I gave one the Apollo Harp to quickly take out the Grand Cross portion and one the Chicken Knife for the Agi boost. Started off singing Speed and Hero while the third used Hide so I could dodge errant White Holes and quickly blew through Tree Form. At this point my speed was high enough that a single character could make their way to Odin on a fresh Magic Lamp before the back part could act. My other bard with Hide got hit with a physical attack and I left him off of Sing, worked my way to Golem while I killed the Grand Cross part. Made sure at least one Bard hid from Almagest and only had to dodge a couple because my Zerker was being nice with the targeting and I brought the Mjolnir wielding Bard out to spread the damage. Mjolnir was hitting for about 2k per and Rune Axe was hitting for 5k per. I ended the fight with everyone up and in good health, which is better than some other runs.
Run #8 is Ninja, Ranger, Samurai, Chemist. Hi-lariously OP.

Looking for the robot in Phantasy Star.
Also, here's a run of bad luck for ya: six straight post-battle chests booby-trapped. Seriously?! Remind me not to play poker right now.
Picked up Child of Light as well. It's on sale (finally!) on the Wii U eShop for $3.75. That's obviously a great deal!

Defeated Muhmkar on Xenoblade Chronicles.
Re: RPG Progress Report
So I thought my Hunter, Ninja, Samurai, Chemist party was OP. Then I got Red Mage, Beastmaster, Bard, Chemist. And really, the OP part is the Bard, Chemist combo. I sailed through World 2 and 3 without letting bosses do anything of consequence, capping it off by killing Tree Exdeath in 5 hits and Neo Exdeath with him only getting off a single physical attack before I destroyed all the parts.
I've decided I'm going to stop at 10 runs this year, and I rolled up Blue, Red, and two Samurai. So this will be nice and easy.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Phantasy Star = DONE
Re: RPG Progress Report
10th and final FJF run done! Party was Blue Mage, Red Mage, 2x Samurai. Gave Blue to everyone and Giltoss to my Blue Mage, proceeded to wreck face. Killed Tree Form by doing a Dark Shock into a Level 2 Old followed by a well timed Level 5 Death, then spammed Aero 3 on the Almagest part (only ate two, and Mighty Guard is awesome). Meanwhile, I was spamming Mind Blast on the Grand Cross part, since that part can be paralyzed. It seems that doing so resets its AI script. With a single person casting Mind Blast while hosted I kept it from doing ANYTHING. Then it was just a matter of keeping track of the HP of both so I could kill them both near each other.
I'm not sure I'll try to do so many runs next year, but I do feel accomplished.
