Bizarre 32X/MD overclock issue
Bizarre 32X/MD overclock issue
Okay, so a bit of background to start off. In my current setup, I have a PAL MD2 VA1 revision, both modded with a single switch region mod and a 10MHz overclock. I also have a PAL 32X VA1 revision (the kind that doesn't need the terminator), modded with an NTSC/PAL switch as well. Now, the overclock alone on my MD2 causes some weird issues; mostly that my Everdrive will often freeze when flashing ROMs to its internal memory whilst overclocked, and then when games run, they will most often have sound glitches and sometimes they will crash altogether. Anyone have any similar experiences with overclocking an MD2?
Secondly, my 32X is stable when I have both the MD2 and 32X set to PAL mode, works perfectly fine then. If I set my MD2 to US NTSC mode and 32X to NTSC mode also, it will often fail to load 32X games at all, and on the few times that games do load, they will crash shortly afterwards. That is, unless I have the MD2 overclocked, then, and only then will 32X games run just fine in NTSC mode. I have tested my 32X on a MD1, again region modded, and none of these issues occur at all. Any ideas?

Not to say you're not going to get assistance here, but you just might be better off posting this over at Sega-16. http://www.sega-16.com/forum/

Yeah I would love to, except the admin never activates my account there so I can't post. I've made two accounts there now, but neither get activated.

Ok, I've posted this in the relevant thread over there.xaranar wrote:Yes indeed, that would be the one
The admin tends to rectify these issues in decent time.
In the meantime, if you would like me to post this 32X/MD overclock issue there on your behalf, I'd be happy to do so.

Thank you kindly! Yeah, hopefully so. I'm relatively new to this whole retro gaming scene, it's sort of become my new obsession.
