something disturbing to think about. When Shenmue III comes out, I will have waited over half of my entire life for it. Worth it!

I waited till 2005 to play Shenmue. I also waited till the end of 2011 to play Shenmue II. I'm on a staggered 6 year program, which means it's the perfect time for III, due out the end of '17!

Just finished watching Game Trailers 6 hour long stream of completing Shenmue 2. Michael Huber of Game Trailers was responsible for that emotional break down during the E3 announcement. It is so amazing to watch them play and share their experiences with others. One of the employees of Game Trailers had never experienced Shenmue and was along for the entire ride.

There really is only one game that I know of that has the same scope and scale of Shenmue and that is really some spectacular and special. I'm all emotional.

That's what drew me to it in the first place. Games can be immersive, and not all just get to point A and point B. The freedom to do what you want. Later I've found other games that offer a sort of freedom, but nothing as unprecedented as Shenmue.

Do you have a link to this stream? I don't have 6 hours now but maybe later.

well...the 6 hour stream is the last episode. They had 7 previous each at about 2 hours. The first few episodes are a bit dull as they are mostly talking about game industry stuff and shooting the shit and all but the last two are pre E3, where they learn Shenmue 3 is real, but things really heat up afterwards.

Here is the playlist with all the episodes.

Game Trailers Shenmue 2 Playthrough.

While people are clamouring with their wallets to get trinkets and other junk associated with Shenmue, I like how in the game proper consumerism is a side-quest, Ryo has a purpose in life but it doesn't stop him from enjoying himself with life's little pleasures.

I just watched the first 2 GT livestreams on II, it's been really good to watch the game again, and see them constantly fail at Lucky Hit. I understand they needed to talk about other stuff to fill in all the walking but it's still been pretty good, they're talking about it like if someone new has played the first game and just now is starting on the second.

Yeah they did just finish the first, but it wasn't archived. Things pick up and the stream gets much more entertaining. I have to give it to them though, they can sure hype up some mundane things. Things get a bit crazier

It's also helpful for someone like me who didn't play II on Xbox, this one has the English voice actors. All I can remember is working the Lucky Hit on the DC version, in Japanese.
