I'm probably going to get a a Vita TV first, just because it's cheaper and I like playing on a big screen, but the Vita definitely looks nice... I am getting a Vita eventually (because of the TV compatibility thing) just the question is when.

If you're interested in western developed games, not really... if at all. As far as Japanese developed Vita games in retail format released in the USA? Oh yeah, there's still lots of stuff coming out. Here's some highlights:
Didn't know about Steins;Gate. Looks really cool - I'm actually just finishing up the anime.

I definitely prefer Eastern games as of late. Especially since they don't tend to be so long-form in terms of play sessions. I attribute that mostly to their tendency towards mobile platforms anyway.

Not discouraging you from buying PSTV (hey, I just bought one) but proceed with caution. PSTV has a lot of limitations in what it can play. They are being sold for a pittance, and Vita games are generally pretty cheap, so it's not hard to justify the cost - just be aware of what corner you are painting yourself into.
:lol:

I worry a little about availability of Vita games in coming months - there is a very weak used scene locally because Vita didn't see strong adoption, so I'm nervous about finding the games I want if I don't start collecting now. Pricing is always best after a system is dead... but finding the games you want can be much trickier.

Also trying to decide between the retail version of Child of Light (I much prefer collecting retail) or the digital (Wii U) version that is on sale right now for a much lower price. Hmm...

@RyaNtheSlayA

If you enjoy Steins;Gate, check out the 8-bit style epilogue VN:

What the hell.

Had never heard of this Steins;Gate game before.

PC version had an American release but it's expensive as hell?! Some sort of limited Kickstarter thing or what?

Steins;Gate started off as a manga and then became an anime series. Somewhere along the way there was a Japanese only visual novel "game" made from it. This VN has been ported, remade, updated yadda yadda a few times and finally started being released in the USA.

I've seen the entirety of the anime (but not the OVAs), and I wasn't very impressed with it. The show has a few appealing characters, but the overall plot wasn't that impressive and was filled with time paradoxes as these things go. It's a story where a modded microwave can convert bananas into gel-bananas, which in essence distorts the parallel dimensional trans-time vortex axis points as to make chrono-shift dimensional-slides feasible, via a means of cell phone keyed teleportation. Got me so far? Now try believing a nerdy wannabe mad scientist can be surrounded by hot assed girls all day and yet not bang any of them ever.

Yeah you're not missing anything.

You just described exactly why I like it. :lol:

To be fair - I don't know about the manga but with the anime i was extremely unimpressed for the first four episodes; it then went completely bonkers and I got totally into it. The characters, especially Okabe, got way more relatable and likable as it went on as well. It took way too long to get going and I don't blame anybody for not getting beyond the opening.
