Speaking of GB stuff, I had more luck today, this has been the year of the meticulously clean and well cared for finds.
First was the GBC adult owned, barely used and stored original purple one like 2 months ago. Then about a month later the $3 ($10, traded off kids games for $7) GBA white original without a mark on it with a stack of nice games. Then today for $39 I got a Graphite GBA SP 101 model system that's in dead mint condition. Very pleased, even got double dragon(gb for $5) extra. I saw a GBA of that model/color in nice shape is like a $60 thing these days which surprised me so I jumped at it.
I put the GBA up for the time being as the GBC too. I'll have to decide what to do, likely keeping them since they don't use stupid OEM batteries, but I don't feel so compelled now to bother modding them since I'm hitting walls on parts.
I forgot how vivid the colors on that 101 model are when you're using old GBC games as they just pop.
Nintendo Handheld Gaming Thread (Game Boy to DS)
Re: Nintendo Handheld Gaming Thread (Game Boy to DS)
Nice GB picks. My DS is in fantastic shape as well. I was lucky to find a model with scratch free screens, working hinges, stylus, charger, AND the original GBA slot 2 cover to put over when not in use. There's only one small paint chip on the outside but otherwise its beautiful, and if it weren't for Exhuminator knowing about which DS Lite had the best screens like the AGS 101 has, I'd have probably not got that deal.
Of course I still have my AGS 101 as a backup.

That makes sense completely. Hell some people will take broken DSlites, snap the top off, mold it down and make it smooth, set the DS to GBA on the lower screen and have a GB Macro.
It's not a bad idea, other than it doesn't do pre-GBA stuff.
I ordered another power plug for this thing, the one I got has the wrong numbers on it.
100-240v and outputs 450ma. A legit one has 120v going in and 320mA going out. I'd rather not have it foul up something that nice.
Hoping my goodies from overseas show up sooner than later. SD Lupin the 3rd and Tekkaman Blade are good games. One I'd love to get ahold of though is Esparks for GB, hard to come by on ebay so the one clown there has it jacked up into the 30s nearing 40.
Seriously though if I could just wrangle the UK set of 4 Konami GB Collection games I'd call it quits for awhile and play what I got. They're priority to me. Also considering the PC Genjin Collection since it's cheaper to get the bonk games in that then US versions alone.

I wish I'd picked up more of those Konami collections. I have Vol. 3. I got it when doing my study abroad trip back in 2001, I think in Switzerland. That's when I also got my copy of Bionic Commando in Belgium, and Metal Gear Solid (GBC) in London.

Anyone have experience properly bivert backlight modding a Gameboy Pocket? I am looking to hire a modder to backlight my clear GBP.

Re: Nintendo Handheld Gaming Thread (Game Boy to DS)
I once had bought all 4 through a .uk website back in the early 2000s all complete for like $25~shipped on average as they weren't really hot items I guess for that store. Now if you're patient you can import them cart only used for that price so that's what I'm shooting for. I just wish I still had the things. I really want to play Castlevania 1/2 and Gradius 1/2 more than anything plus the goofy non-US Parodius, Goemon and Twinbee again.

Tanooki - I totally forgot about the GB Macro. When I first saw the concept years ago I thought it was a neat idea to refurb broken DSes. I now want one!
Re: Nintendo Handheld Gaming Thread (Game Boy to DS)
It's a worthy project if you have the tools, the supplies, a system, and the talent to mold the mess up top right so it looks right and smooth as if it were meant to be.
I can't do squat like that so I'd have to pay someone and they'd want a lot for that.

Same here but I can always learn.
In any event I picked up the second Golden Sun game to go along with my first game. I've owned them when one as younger but got rid of most of my collection. I am just looking to get the games I had a lot of fun with. Golden Sun is on that very short list.

I recently completed 30 days with Brain Age & Brain Age 2. I just started Flash Focus a few days ago, and since it was co-developed by Nintendo, the layout is very similar to Brain Age (write your name, determine "Eye Age", daily exercises, same layout for games/rules/etc.)
The sports games on this have really good graphics and are probably more fun than the regular tests. My current eye age is 27 (best is 20 like in Brain Age)
