Best arcade stick BUT

Post by lost_within »

This is part emulation part hardware, i am more or less turning my computer into a mame machine, being me...95% of the games are fighters/shooters. I thought about making it into a cab but then i though, its no fun trying to throw that in the back of a honda civic and drive to your friends house...now is it :D

SO, im looking for the best arcade stick but can be thrown in the trunk on the go. I found a joystick on ebay usb universal kinda thing for like 50$....but of course i have no idea of knowing what quality it is. Ill pay for quality, i just need to know where to find it :(

Anyone used xarcade products?
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

I just ordered the Universal Arcade Stick you're referring too. It's only really favored amongst the hardcore arcade stick users as base for modding, but I have a feeling it'll be fine for me. There's seems to be a handful of people satisfied with it. I'm just going to use it for casual MAME play, and I don't play fighters which is was most people get sticks for.

I'll let you know how it works when it arrives in the mail this week. Of course, if you have the money you should probably spring for something more expensive. I just couldn't afford to shell out anymore than $50 shipped for a stick.

Will do. I'll also send you the seller link if you decide you want one. It ended up being $44 shipped in the end.

Hori Real Arcade Pro, or make one yourself. RAPs are rather expensive, but very nice. f you build one you can get the exact same parts or whatever you want for considerably less.

I posted my thoughts about my X-Arcade dual stick here recently: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 15&t=10215

TLDR, I think it's fine for casual usage, though you might find issues if you are either a hardcore shmup or fighter player... I think that I would just keep it stock if I didn't have a reason to buy new parts for it...
