Yeah, that's what I meant. Definitely not from a graphical perspective. They're pretty basic-looking games. But I always thought the balancing and gameplay was spectacular on both those entries, especially since it didn't require nearly the sort of grinding the first game did. And I absolutely love the enemy designs, Toriyama really nails it with those. It gives the games a lot of character, even if they don't animate (and didn't until DQVI).Exhuminator wrote:I rented them. As for the sound aspect, I absolutely love some of the tunes in those games, so I do think those stack up well. Sugiyama has composed some wonderful stuff over the years. Although if you're playing the Japanese version of PS, that's certainly impressive from a technical standpoint! Not too many NES games that have FM synth, I think Lagrange Point is the only one that immediately comes to mind.
