Can't bring myself to hate Uncharted like all the cool kids do.

I've played through UC1-3 and while I wouldn't really play through any of them again, they were at least worth playing through the one time.

I also really, really enjoyed the multiplayer in UC2. A lot. Go ahead and shoot me for supporting "tacted on multiplayer in single player games," I don't care.

I for one didn't hate the two games I played in this series, they were just 7/10 kinda experiences for me. They didn't put me off from buying 2 and 3 at least. The only reason I haven't played those two yet is I wanted to play the series in chronological order plot-wise. (Golden Abyss being a prequel to Drake's Fortune).

I didn't hate them either, they could just be a lot better. I played all three through 'til the final battle of 3, where I was just burned out from playing them all in a row. They're amazing cinematic efforts and average video games. That still puts them well above most games.

I recently listened to a podcast where one person said they were really into the multiplayer as well.

Precisely. If you're going to play Uncharted, do it for the story and pretty, bright scenery, not the gameplay.

Or just watch a real movie.

This is interesting. I always felt the first title in any new IP is the best one (on the same console) because thats the one where the developer releases all their new ideas and their best efforts. The second ones usually are more of the same thing or some new additions to keep things interesting.
That's not always the case. Uncharted showed some promise, but had some pretty glaring flaws. Seriously, that final boss fight felt like a goddamn N64 game, and not in a good way. Uncharted 2 is superior in every regard, especially in regards to Nathan Drake's character and the gunplay. I still don't like it, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if I were the only one here that actually hates Uncharted.

I haven't played it myself, but I thought the multiplayer looked kinda fun.

The multiplayer is just the usual arena deathmatch stuff that they always do when they tack an MP mode onto an SP game, as far as I can tell. Buying Uncharted for the online is like buying Borderlands or Battlefield for the single player.

Hadn't powered on my PSP for the longest time.
So color me surprised when I was prompted for a firmware update. :o
Must have been a good 3-4 years since the last one Sony put out?

I loved all 4 Uncharted games! Gunplay was average, nothing else was.

There's a weird thing on GOG where you can redeem codes from your old boxed PC games and download them again for free. I thought that sounded amazing, then I clicked on the page and it's about half a dozen games I've never heard of, all in the same series I think. Oh well.

EDIT: Why don't GOG or Steam have the original Total Annihilation or Alpha Centauri?
