Okay, so the local auction house is holding a collectable auction on Wednesday and while I was perusing their yet-unfinished catalog, I noticed they have a Commodore 64 (In box) + 1541 Floppy (In Box) and a Commodore 128 (loose) + 1541 Floppy (In Box).
So I guess my question is, if I manage go get away from work early on Wednesday, what do you guys think would be a reasonable amount to bid, considering there's no way for me to test anything? I mean, I'm clearly interested, but other than my plug-n-play, I have no experience with Commodore, let alone the machines.
I mean, I tried to peruse ebay to give myself some sort of idea, but without knowing if they work or not it's kind of hard to tell. I just thought I'd ask here in hopes that a Commodore expert would impart their wisdom upon me. But they must have spent the last couple days napping or something.

Granted this is a retro gaming site, but the vast majority of folks here play old console and handheld games. I can't recall anyone here even talking about C64 games since I've been around. So it's possible the general populace here really has no idea what the system is worth. Not to mention there are a lot of variant models of the C64 and surely they go for different prices.
My advice is to bid as low as possible. It's doubtful too many local people there will be interested in a computer they can't even browse Facebook on. You might get the thing for $20.
