New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hi there, I'm Desassina (pronounced Deh-zah-seen-ah), which is a made up word in Portuguese for Design (design, like dematerialize or decompose)
I'm Portuguese and I started gaming with the Genesis back in the 90s, but I didn't actually own one. The PS1/Saturn/N64 generation passed by me, and then I got the Dreamcast as my first console. I was hooked, but it didn't last long enough, unfortunately, and I never got a console again. I'm now trying to get back at gaming, having started with a few PC games of old, and working my way up with a dual analog controller for the best experience. Perhaps I'll get into consoles again with your help, ha ha.
"assina" is portuguese for sign. "desassina" is design.

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster!
I'm 26 and from the UK and I've been a gamer as long as I can remember. First system was an Amiga but then slowly went through the Mega Drive, PS, PS2, GC up to PS4 now. Being married and working full time doesn't give me a huge time to play but I try and get in 1 hour a night when the missus is in bed
I'm also a keen musician and homebrewer.
Currently playing FFX (PS2), Watchdogs (PS4) and Rocket League (PS4), just completed Shining Force (Mega Drive)

Hello all!
I am Sam, I'm 22, and I'm from England, though I spent most of my childhood growing up in Calgary, in Canada (I'm back in England now, for the record).
I've been lurking on this forum for a while, and thought it was about time I signed up, and so here I am. I'm still new to collecting retro games, having started only in Feburary this year, collecting Playstation 1 and 2 games.
If we're talking "modern" games, I'm a huge fan of Dynasty Warriors, aaaaaand the Fallout series. That's about it!

Greetings and welcome aboard! It is a pleasure to have you finally taking the big step into active forum participator! Worry not, for we are not the harsh and cruel creatures commonly found on the internet!Megalatron wrote:Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster!

I know I am a bit late with the greetings, but how are your currently played games list going? How do you feel FFX stacks up compared to the other games in the series? Also, what did you think of Shining Force? Although it is a simple strategy game, it is definitely one of my most favorite in the series. Have you played the others?
As for the systems you have owned in your youth, which ones do you feel are your absolute favorite and why? For me, I have to say that my all time favorite system has to be the Sega Saturn. Although the games come at a hefty price, the content there has a huge longevity. Games like Saturn Bomberman, Enemy Zero, Dragon Force, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Burning Rangers etc. all have content that will last you a very long time, with tons of layers and things to uncover and explore. Definitely my favorite system.
As for current stuff, I see you have a PS4. How is that system treating you?
Anywho, sorry for bombarding you with questions. Welcome once again and I hope you enjoy your stay here!
Greetings and salutations Sam! It is a pleasure to have you here on the forums! It is never to late to start collecting games of yore so trust us, we support your endeavors! As for your collection so far, what have you been focusing on? Any particular gems or games you have or are looking for that you love?Sam_P wrote:Hello all!

Dynasty Warriors is a lot of fun. Have you seen Hyrule Warriors? I personally enjoyed the game a lot more than I thought I was, with a great mixture of Dynasty Warriors and Zelda. Really a stellar game.
As for Fallout, are you fan of the original Turn-Based RPG or the FPS Bethesda games? I love both, honestly and feel they both offer a lot to modern gamers. I have been a fan of the series since its birth on PC and still have my CDs. Let me tell you a secret though.... ssshhh, don't tell anyone, but I have only beat the modern games. I have plunked hundreds of hours in the first two and always get to a certain point where I just stop playing. Shame on me I know!

At the minute, I'm focusing on games I used to play growing up (Rosco McQueen, Tomb Raider, Gex, Pandemonium, etc) and picking up anything and everything in between. As for Hyrule Warriors, I have - a friend of mine has it and I seem to spend more time on it than he does, a super game.BogusMeatFactory wrote:

As for Fallout, I started at the beginning, though not while early 2005 - I was still a toddler when the first two installments were released! Fallout: BOS was a personal favorite up until 3 came out, though I'm hugely addicted to Fallout Shelter for iOS at the minute!
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hi all!
I have ran into this website several times at work, and just came across it today while looking for old arcade games, so decided I should join!
My name is Alexis (my friends usually call me Lexi), I am 26 y.o. In my spare time I do indie game dev on projects that are way too ambitious. I am also addicted to dota and ffxiv ^_^.
I've always been interested in retro games, but haven't had as much time as I'd like to play them. I honestly haven't played/beaten even most of the classics... I also definitely don't have the money or space to collect actual copies of the games.
Anyway, yea... hi!
