I personally don't really care one way or the other about the flag. I do clearly see why a lot of people find it racist, but I can also clearly see that the large majority of people who cling to it do so for pride rather than race.
Calling the flag racist because it represents slavery is kinda like saying the American flag is racist because it represents the destruction of Native Americans. That said, the rebel flag is, obviously, a symbol of rebellion against the government, and that alone is reason enough to take it down.
Personally though, and I've thought this since I was a kid growing up in an extremely rural all-white part of the south - why the heck are people proud of it to begin with? You didn't win the war. I have ancestors that served in that war, but I also have ancestors that served in the American Revolution, WW2 and Korea. I'm a lot more likely to take pride in any of those than a war fought on American soil against Americans.
But yeah, whatever. I don't really care. The only thing that annoys me about this is that with the flag takedown, gay marriage legalization and the gun control debate that is sure to follow, I'm not looking forward to dealing with most the people in my family until this whole thing blows over. Sooo many awkward conversations these past few weeks.
Anyway, enough of that shit. Have some stupid.

The Pluto shots are amazing. The science behind it is even more amazing.
We have a camera, in outer space, getting near the end of our solar system, that travels at speeds close to 35,000 miles per hour. And then it shoots us the pictures, FROM OUTER SPACE! Sometimes in less than a half hour!
...and people are like, "Who GAF about Pluto?". I care. My very educated Mother will always serve me nine pizzas, even if one is a dwarf. Sorry, "Little Planet".

It's not considered a planet because we discovered the Kuiper belt, there are other Kuiper objects of a similar size, so we would either have to reclassify Pluto (which is something we believe came from the Kuiper belt and got stuck) OR we recognize there's another class of objects. Which is what they did.
It doesn't make Pluto any less important ... I think that's just people being 'All-or-nothing' idiots. All of these things are part of our solar system, it just turns the body count to something uncountable without calculators.
What I think is more exciting than the data on Pluto ... is we'll continue receiving images and data as the probe goes through the Kuiper belt. And that's just going to be amazing.
