Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Reasonably sure you don't need to swap party during that boss. Just kick the shit out of his body and the whole thing dies.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
So yes I had to use the other party, the game should have told you clearly that you must use both not give you a dialogue that says "Are you worried about the other party or are you ok? "
FF VII is getting very frustrating by the end. Everytime I die at the final boss I have to replay about 40min or so just to get the chance to face him again, that including facing 2 of the toughest bosses in the game not to mention the enemies on the way.
My head hurts from watching all the summon sequences.

Yeah I'm the crazy-completionist type on JRPGs (which is why I rarely get into them)... first time I played I made damn sure to get everything. And spent lots and lots of time farming Magic Pots for the AP by abusing the W-Item glitch.RCBH928 wrote:@KalessinDB

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
What level is your party? Even without summons, a decent character with 4x Cut should make short work of the boss. Maybe toss Slash-All on another character. Cloud, Cid, and Barrett can all deal a lot of damage with their limit breaks, maybe get those charged to full before heading into the fight? Don't waste em on Jenova of course, she should fall with simple stuff.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I had Yuffie with her ultimate weapon and the 'Mug' and 'Attack as well' materia. 19998 damage pretty consistently, and I didn't do any special grinding and didn't even try that hard to do side quests. Yuffie's ultimate weapon was pretty easy to find and doesn't require any special work to make the most of it.

Yeah, Yuffie's Weapon str = levle of enemy, iirc. It is basically always as strong as you need it to be.
Barrett is great too, his Ultimate Weapon is hard to not find, and its str = AP on all materia equipped on the weapon. So load him up with your ALL+Healz and such, lets him keep your party topped off, AND keep his damage high for a nice Catastrophe.
Cid won't be as strong, but Highwind (If you have it) hits so many times that it hardly matters.
Definitely would recommend Cloud, Barrett, and either Yuffie or Cid, depending on what Materia you have. Also, the guard enemy skill (Big Guard? Mighty Guard? Can't recall) is obviously crazy good, and White Wind on a character with lots of HP+ works well, since it heals for the caster's current HP. Worth tossing those on Barrett to counter the HP loss from all the materia you want on him, still lets him play support and unleash some strong attacks.
If you don't have some of those materia, you can always dup items either to heal easier, or to feed Elixers to the Magic Pots in that dungeon. Those + Mole thingies will dump AP on you, enough to even make maxing out Mime's trivial.
Also worth noting, Mystiles may appear to not be as good of an armor based purely on Def and M Def, but they give you SO much dodge that, even with less slots, I think they easily out-perform the Ziedrich. You probably only have 1-2 (Unless you were cheeky and tricked the game into giving you a third), but putting that on your support character, with high hp and white wind, lets them almost always live through attacks. Phoenix on that character is also important, they sit with their 9999 HP and super dodge, and just rez your party if things go sour. Again, if you need to level up Phoenix, as long as you have W-Item to dupe, you can easily do it in the crater.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The Echo Night series are first person adventure games where the player is tasked with aiding ghosts in ways that help the spirits move on to the afterlife. There are danger elements in the games as well, which adds a survival horror angle. I've played a bit of the first and third game, and both were creepy having that distinctive From Software vibe we (should) all know and love.Erik_Twice wrote:Cool!
