Canola oil has on the other hand has still been found to have trace amounts of trans-fats. The saturated fat part is true but not all fats are the same and new research has shown saturated fat on it's own is not as harmful as once thought.

What oil would you suggest then? I only use avocado, evo, coconut, and palm oil for the most part. Seasame seed oil for flavor in asian dishes but never cooked.
Some of my research is out of date, but it is mine. Long hours in the lab, doing the barrage of tests, pouring over spectrometer results, and putting random crap in the autoclave to see what happens during the downtime. I have a BS and almost a Masters in Food Science. You did not specify unrefined coconut oil, or if you did I missed it, and I apologize. Most of my studies were done on the most common oils available at the time, coldpressed coconut was not readily available.

I recommend pairing your oil with your food type. For example, if I am cooking something low in poly unsaturated, I will often use safflower oil. Safflower is low in saturated and mono unsaturated, but high in poly. That way you have an "even" fat content, which is typically easier for the body to digest. Though at the end of the day, this is all general advice. What works for you and your body is what is best. Case in point I have a good friend who cannot eat most refined oils due to an odd allergy*, even coldpressed, so she cooks with ghee.

I keep a mix of oils on hand for different types of cooking. Walnut oil is one most people do not think about, mostly because for ages it was a paint base, but when used for correctly, it can make some foods taste amazing. When cooked it takes on a bitterness so it is mostly used in dressings where it is a slight nutty flavor. It is also not shelf stable and expensive. Right now I have Safflower, Sesame, Walnut, Flaxseed, Canola, Avacado, Cottonseed, Peanut, and Coconut oils on hand. I ran out of Tea seed oil last night (which if you like sesame seed, try tea seed. It is what is used in South China and is like a step between olive and grapeseed).

*she claims it is an allergy, I think she is missing a receptor. Studies have shown that this is most likely due to an increase of protein in the way most oils are processed.

I am SOOOO tempted to make this my new sig quote.

I would go into discussing lust versus admiration in the context of Biblical relation, but certain individuals around here get very upset when Christianity is debated in any fashion. I'd rather not raise anyone's blood pressure inadvertently.

I say if you Luke feel in your heart that admiring the beauty of a woman and telling her she's beautiful is not a sin, then it isn't. Now going home and masturbating to her behind your wife's back would be a different story of course. But I'm betting that's not something you do, even with all that mercury making your neurons nutty. ;p
Passive aggressive much? I suppose that is directed at either Mike or myself. I don't appreciate being talked about like I'm a fool because of my faith, I think that is fair since I don't make judgments on you based on yours. That's all there was to my comment. Debate all you like, just don't condescend and I'm cool.

Luke, I think that it is perfectly natural to find someone else attractive, and stating so respectfully is certainly nothing to feel guilty about in my book. In other words I agree.

I can't imagine eating a can of tuna straight up. But, *insert obvious Dane Cook style joke here*. I bet you don't love pussies more than Popo, he is super loving when he talks about kitties.

When I was younger I'd eat a straight can of tuna if I didn't feel like even taking the time to make mac & cheese. Sometimes I'd make a sandwich, but it was just straight tuna between two slices of Wonderbread, not tuna salad.

And that's correct; Luke does not kittehs as much as me. He's one of those "dog people".

It seems they all love pussies. I still vote Popo for the most "kitteh" though. When they were calling all "pussy lovers" in From Dusk Til Dawn they had Popo ghost write the script.

This is the second time you've brought this up, so I will just address it. No, I never said you are a fool jp1. Earlier I did insinuate that aspects of Christianity lie in the realm of imagination. Does that mean I think you are a fool because you're a Christian who believes such aspects? No, it does not mean I think you're a fool because of that. All this means is that you believe in something that I do not, and I recognize the situation. It's simply a personal opinion. Nothing more. If I wanted to call you a fool, I would simply just call you a fool. I wouldn't pussyfoot around the matter. Since I have in fact not called you a fool, that means I do not think you are a fool. So let's move on please.

I don't know about that:

That would seem you judged that I'm an atheist. I am not an atheist.

So, it would not be insulting to you if I stated that some belief you held dear was based entirely on imagination? You don't have to pussyfoot, that directly places the idea of being a Christian as either stupid or misguided. I don't need imagination to know that I am facing in the right direction when it comes to my beliefs, but I'm not going to get into that with someone who will no doubt dismiss the reasons anyway.

I didn't know someone could be judged as an atheist, it was an assumption based on your comments, I admit it was hasty though. Quite frankly, however, that seems like semantics. The point was that I wasn't assuming (or insinuating, or stating the opinion) that you were stupid for not realizing that there are things pointing to the existence of God in your every day life. I'm not pussyfooting either, if I came in stating my "opinion" that everyone that didn't believe in God was basing their logic on imagination, some eyebrows would be raised.

The problem is that because you have not experienced something, that doesn't mean it is "based on imagination". You are completely discounting the experiences of other people or blowing them off as fluff. I don't care how you try and slice it, that is insulting. Believe in (or don't) whatever you want, there is no need to belittle the ideals of others. Sure, you're free to do it. I'm free to take umbrage. I just don't see why we need to be at that point. I'm not pushing a religious agenda.

Out of curiosity, what would your opinion be of someone bringing back the temple of Zeus? Is that just as real as what you experience, or is it based in imagination?

Neither do I but there's also the fact that:

There's also the fact that no one will get that reference.

:) Yesterday was my birthday.

 The AC's out!

:D But my uncle loaned me a window AC.

:D Going up to Nags Head tomorrow. Hopefully gonna find some shorts at the thrift stores, since I can never seem to find size 36 at The Hotline here in Buxton.

Simmer down now.

Or...

SIMMER. Down. NOW!

No one is pointing fingers or waving them.

Now where we are putting our fingers... Gross.

That's a booger joke, not a vagina joke. Or it could also be a butthole joke.

I eat tuna so I don't pass out. I'm not being flippant when I say I don't have an appetite. Very rarely do I ever feel "hungry", but I know if I don't eat I'll pass out. And obviously I love food, but I don't crave it. My wife even gives me the business everyday with "What did you eat for breakfast?", "What did you eat for lunch?", and "You need to finish your dinner".

So I'm weird. So what, sew buttons. Sometimes at 3am I'll wake up and eat a plate of leftovers. I'll eat a can of tuna at noon everyday because I know if I don't I'll collapse. It takes me a lot of effort to eat and finish a plate of food. Exceptions are Gyro's from Kings, and hotdogs from Superdawgs. In other cases, I'd say I can stomach 2 square inches of food, and that's about it.

Smile: DeAndre Jordan not giving a hoot.

Time will tell, but I don't think he gave the Mavs a solid "yes". If he did, poop on him.
