Maybe Christian-inspired, but definitely not Christian. They're what you'd get if you put a heavy dose of Spawn-esque comic bookery in there. I did enjoy the games, however, especially the first one.
Dante's Inferno, I've not played. I'd assume that it's very loosely based on the book. It's basically a God of War-style game, right?
There's elements of Christianity, along with a lot of other religions, in Shin Megami Tensei. I don't know that I've ever seen a positive portrayal of God / YHWH in those games, and I know at least one is quite sympathetic to Lucifer.

It'd be hard to make a case for Dante's Inferno, for a variety of reasons. Use of Christian imagery and ideas? That's fair to say.

Christian games, depending on what you define a Christian game as, are flat out hard to make. They won't appeal to a large swath of gamers based on subject matter, risks not appealing to portions of Christian groups due to differing ideology, and tends to fall in the trap of putting the message over the gameplay... which we see in other forms of games attempting to make a point.

The best depiction of God in SMT has been him being indifferent and distant. Lucifer gets a much better rap in that series, with his worst depiction being stuck in the same cycle as God and it going up into full on guy you're supposed to sympathize with.Sarge wrote:There's elements of Christianity, along with a lot of other religions, in Shin Megami Tensei. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Does anyone have a good reason for why some games don't let you take screenshots on WiiU?
Because I can't think of anything.
It's infuriating, especially in games with pretty art that I want to share. I'm looking at you Darksiders 2.

I agree. as long as you don't think too hard about it, Spiritual Warfare is a pretty solid NES game. I also enjoyed Exodus and Sunday Funday, but Bible Adventures and King of Kings are pretty shoddy. (I have not yet played Jericho.)Sarge wrote:Despite the sketchy background of Wisdom Tree, Spiritual Warfare is pretty decent.
I must say, however, that The Bible Game for the GBA is one of the worst games in my collection. It is absolutely horrible (which means that it does double duty in my Christian games collection and my horrible games collection).
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I enjoy the Exodus/Joshua/Crystal Mines trilogy, they're all the same game but with different characters/objects, etc.

Went to the pawn shop that always sold PSP games for $4. Go there to pick up Vice City Stories and Tomb Raider Anniversary (I already picked up all the RPGs and Monster Hunters they had) and they jacked the prices on all their PSP games up to $8. Why? Why would you double the price on a system that is only becoming more and more undesirable to the hoi polloi by the minute?
Anyway, what about other games based heavily on currently practiced religions other than Christianity?

You do have to use the other party to beat Bizarro Sephiroth. They can target another part of him the 1dt party can't iirc. You need to kill them both simultaneously.RCBH928 wrote:I need some serious help with FF 7 :
The final boss is really easy, nothing to worry about there.

It's been so long since I played FF7 that all I remember is W-Summon KotR, go make a sandwich, come back and he's dead.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
