What RPG are you playing right now?

The .hack games, from my recollection, capture a lot of the true MMO experience. So if you like grindy stuff, it'll appeal!

I would like to get the .hack G.U. games... or at least the rest of them. I own vol. 3 (lucky pawn shop find), but not the others. Haven't even touched it.

I thought the first .Hack game was... okay. Playable, and with a solid atmosphere to the game. It at least feels like the game accomplishes what it sets out to do, so if the premise sounds fun, you should enjoy it. Still quite a repetitive game though.

However, I don't think the first game is SO good that I want to follow it up with 3 more games that are essentially, from what I have played, the same. Maybe 3 and 4 change it up, I couldn't make it past 2 though.

Now, the GU games, at least to me, were quite good. Better combat, better characters, pretty much a better everything. I actually wanted to play through all 3, but I never ended up finding the 3rd game, and lost my complete saves from 1 and 2 in the process.

So, my recommendation: Play Infection, then move on to GU. It is actually perfect, since there are characters you'll want to recognize from the first series in GU.

Started playing X-Men Legends on the Gamecube. Had the Xbox version but it wasn't forward compatible on the 360, and same with the sequel. Also can't play backups on my PS2 (yet).

Actually, the fights play out sort of like a beat 'em up, but everything else about the game is pure RPG
